|  Okay, For all of the people who checked out my post about being trapped in my own neighborhood; I may have a way out. The housing inspectioner came to my house today and he felt my "pain". I showed him the backed up toilet, now one is working finally; I showed him the numerous locations of the roaches; I explained to him how the ducts have not been cleaned since I have lived here (for three years) and the fact that I have asked for it to be done; I explained how people are continuously throwing brick sized rocks at my dog and when my husband confronts them, they threaten him with a pistol; I explained how it took forever for them to cut my grass, how they waited until it was 2 feet tall before they cut it; I explained how because we dont want to deal with any of these drug dealers on the block, that now they have a problem with us and how we are scared to call the cops because the property manager is the MAYOR; I explained how they were steeling my cable; I showed him the stove that one eye does not work and two knobs are missing; and I showed him the bites on my children from the roaches.
Oh, he really understood where I was coming from and he mentioned that the property manager would have ten days to fix all of these problems or we will be allowed to move. I couldnt be happier. I know for a fact that they wont be able to get rid of these roaches in ten days because we have been trying for a year now! Also I got ahead of myself and started looking for a new place to live. I found the perfect house (on paper). I havent seen it yet but it sounds great.
Okay, it is a three bedroom two bath two car garage and 2000 square feet. It is in FlourMound which is only 20 minutes from Haslet, where my husband works. Flour Mound is a great area and has wonderful schools. They are only asking $1050 a month in rent and $800 deposit and $300 deposit for my dog, which is a pit bull and most homeowners have a problem with that breed. They are not currently accepting housing but are willing to accept it. Oh I am so happy and have been praying for this ten days to hurry up so they can tell us to move and I have been praying some more hoping that this house is still available in ten days.
With out any of us working our voucher amount was for a 3 bedroom at $1008 a month and that included all bills paid. But with no bills paid it would probably be around $750 or $850 in rent a month. We live in a 1000 square food two bedroom 1.5 bath duplex for $515 a month and we have to pay all bills and since my husband got a job we now have to pay $406 on that rent. This will help becaues that will bring the previous voucher amount of $1008 to only God knows what. I am really happy.

| | They cant, I got housing involved since the property manager wouldnt do anything about any of the issues that I was having. It is just too unsanitary for my children! They are so young and they dont need to be living like this. They have ten days and then that is it! | | | |

| |  I am happy for you to be able to move . No one should have to live under those conditions. I am surprised to discover that roaches bite. I never knew that. I will say a prayer to the universe to help you obtain the house you want. You certainly deserve better conditions to live in.

| |  Oh that is so exciting! I am glad someone is finally doing something! With all the things you have listed that you put up for more than year, I almost think if you sued, you could win damages. No one should have to put up with roaches for more than a year, let alone the other things. I look forward to hearing what happens!

| | I believe that it is Gods time finally. See before we werent really listening to what God was telling us and I finally got back where I needed to be and that is studying his word. I am still not perfect and have a lot of improvements to make but I am trying and that is enough in his eyes I think. I think that all this time waiting is being patient enough and that God will allow for something to go in our favor wether it be that the problems are solved or that we get to move. Whichever he see best I will be satisfied. at least I wont have to live in these conditions and neither will my family anymore which ever direction it goes. | | | |
