I would say handle with care. Sony is top of the line in video cameras. if you treat the video camera well it will have a resale value by the time you want to trade up. make sure you have the battery charger and enough spare batteries to not wear the power cells down. make sure you clean the lens and have it cleaned and serviced at least once a year. The dvd transfer quality is very high and the multiple speed settings and light settings will help you in filming.
