Stationery In the House? |
| |
| I know that many people do not write real letters anymore. My little ol' mama still has a lot of beautiful stationery here, because she still believes in the art of letter writing. She also keeps her pads of plain writing paper "for insurance." Me? I have some from the Dollar Tree that I can use for snail mail, or in my laser printer either way. If I could find the right drivers for my laser printer, though, I would probably totally lose my ability to write anything by hand. So I have not used my Dollar Tree stationery in the printer as yet. It's not bad for a dollar. It's beige, with kind of a calico-print border. Got stationery? What is it like? | | | | | |

| | I have some cheap stationary, probably from the dollar tree as well, but I also have some really nice, personalized, engraved stationary as well that I use for special ocassions. I like to hand write a letter to my husbands Grandma sometimes (she is a dear, dear woman) and sometimes just try to drop little notes of encouragement or thanks to other people. I think people feel special if they get a hand written note in the mail. | | | | | | |

| | I think so, too. I love getting real letters, so I feel to receive them, I had better send them lol. My hand always feels all crampy by the time I finish them! | | | |

| | I am a frugal person and often by stationery from the Dollar Tree, Christmas Tree Shops, and other penny wise places. I have typed messages and printed them out on the stationery. It looks sharp. For me it is easier to sit at the pc and type a letter to someone rather than use pen and paper. This also makes the words more legible and insures that people will actually be able to read what you have written. I do add a handwritten sentiment at the end of each letter. | | | | | | |

| | Hi cremechese, Yes I absolutely love stationery! I have a few packages. The last one I got is white with a china blue tiny flowers in it with the same pattern darker around the edges. I have some that's yellow with purple pansies on it. I think I still have some with a farm mailbox on it, that's really pretty.--- And That's just Paper- In my computer I collect all kinds of pretty stationery. I have angels, all the colors, Roses, even guy stuff (for when I write to the guys)... On occasion, I do still write real letters with REAL handwriting. Oh! I love to change fonts on the computer too & LOVE the old English handwriting! | | | | | | |

| | Hi Cremechese. I use to write a lot of letters back in my day and my hand would get so sore! lol My paper was plain and simple white. Nothing fancy just plain white writting paper. Now I have a couple of sets. One has rainbows all over it but in a really pretty pastels. The other is of daisies because it's my favorite flower. Both of these I use in my printer in which I type my letter and then hit the print button! LOL | | | | | | |

| | I have some notecards, both versed and unversed. Some of which were sent as premiums for donations or other things. Some I bought from the wife of one of my patients in the nursing home, because she had hand painted them. I tend toward decorative or colored computer paper. I do not write much. I also have pretty 5x7 legal pads in pastels, and in clouds that work for letters or notes to myself. I have a craft book with templates for making envelopes out of magazine pages or wrapping paper. I liked doing that. People really got a kick out of their envelopes. | | | | | | |

| | Those envelopes do sound pretty cool! I like to get notecards at the Dollar Store, too. I'm sure I could make all kinds of things if I got a new printer. Meanwhile, it's the Dollar Tree for me! | | | |

| | Well I don't really write letters anymore, so we have very little stationery in the house. The only stuff we have is really the stuff that you get in Hotels when you travel. Eduardo (my partner) travels a lot with his work, so he's always coming back with paper and envelopes with "Marriott" or "Holiday Inn" or whatever printed all over it! As for the printer - I just use plain A4 white paper that I get from work. So nothing too exciting I'm afraid. | | | | | | |

| | I have some. I hardly ever use it. I rarely snailmail anyone. My friend just moved to New York though. The calls will be expensive and we will be mailing letters also. I will use it for that. It is also beige but with blue flowers bordering. It has a decorative scalloped edge all around The envelopes are beige with a bouquet on the back flap. It use to have the straight edge set that only had bouquets on the 4 corners, but I use all of that. it is a very nice set that I got for Christmas from a relative years ago. Probably a hint to write that I failed to 'get'. When scouts start back up, we will be writing letters to royals troops and will need some. I will probably get it at Family Dollar. They have some pretty stationary. I love to get stuff at the dollar stores, but I rarely get to the Dollar Tree. They moved, and a new road was built so I rarely go that way any more. | | | | | | |

| | That is SO cool that your troops will be exchanging letters! The dollar stores are terrific, I wish there had been some when my kids were little. They're a godsend to my sister, with her daycare. She scores all kinds of great materials. | | | |

| | I like stationeries too ^.^ And they really are lovely and cute and adds up beauty to a letter. Back in the Philippines, my bestfriend and I used to collect stationeries. And I still have some of my collections here in CA, although I've used most of it in writing letters for my bestfriend. I still have Harry Potter stationery which I am not planning to used, I just want it there with the other stationery I made. Oh, yeah, I make my own stationery now since I can't find beautiful stationery here in US like the ones I have. These stationeries were made from Taiwan, Korea, and sometimes China. Also reminds me of scented flowery stationeries^.^ | | | | | | |

| | My sister and I had scented stationery. I remember we used to write to our boyfriends on it when they went to Vietnam. Probably it didn't even stink by the time it got there! | | | |
