Do you like the Simpsons more, or Family Guy? |
|
I'm a loyal Simpsons fan; they pioneered the field which Family Guy entered. I have to say that Family Guy sure has a lot of similarities to the Simpsons (take a closer look at all the details). But anyhow, I still think both are hilarious - Family Guy's got the spunk that the Simpsons seemed to have lost.
So, I have to wonder - do you like the Simpsons or Family Guy more? Why?

1. SquashStar (450) | 3 years ago | I'm a total Family Guy fan and i agree that Simpsons has lost it but Family Guy has it! It's so much funnier and i think that family guy is slightly different than simpsons other than Peter vs Homer...Peter wins obviously

2. furion1 (158) | 3 years ago | I'm a fan of the Simpsons and I think it is funnier than the Family Guy. I like to watch them both because some missing elements from Simpsons can be found in the Family Guy and the other way around. Stewie is a cool baby but Maggie is funnier. Homer vs Peter? Both are slow but Homer experiences more mischiefs. Overall, I'll stick with the Simpsons.

3. citrusemma (406) | 3 years ago | Simpsons~ it was the original family cartoon... Family guy is good, but over the top and it has got to the point where it will say anything to grab back the attention of viewers.
If you were unused to watching the show, and then suddenly watched one of the worse episodes~ trust me, you are likely to be shocked.
And yes, when I first saw Family Guy, I was like "Hey, isn't this just like a copy of the simpsons with more crap?" lol

| 5. Jcardiel (23) | 3 years ago | Family guy definitely. Family guy seems to be funnier than the Simpsons. The Simpsons used to be the funniest show out there but once family guy came out, the Simpsons went down. I still like the simpsons but not as much as family guy.

7. houndsgood (597) | 3 years ago | Family Guy - 100%. The Simpsons was very relevant when it first came out, but it has gone very stale. I find sometimes that the newer episodes are very heavy handed in making political statements, etc, and pushes the show out of the "satire" realm and seems to enter the realm of being Groening's personal soapbox. Personally I think its running out of steam. It is one thing to "have a message" but when your audience blatantly realizes you are trying to push a point or view, and it is no longer told within a good story, it is just bad writing.
I no longer watch it as I have lost interest - but in the past Homer is mean to Flanders, inconsiderate to his kids, and other characters but deep down you know that he cares about the other people and even though he does stupid things, at some point he is marginally remorseful and that's what makes the character maybe 1.5 dimensional instead of 1 dimensional but there was an episode I remember where the writers forgot about this and were just deciding he was just stupid for stupid's sake again like they ran out of ideas. I am not saying that shows have to have a message, but some of the characters just haven't aged well.
