Does moving the mouse really fast around the screen help the page load faster?  |

 When I am waiting for a page to load, I will move my mouse really super fast around the screen and then my page comes up..Is it because I moved the mouse around, or did it just happen to come up on its own, and I just think it was my super fast moves with the mouse? I am moving the mouse down to start this discussion. Was that fast or what?

I don't know about this and I tried to 'follow your advice' just now but nothing happened. The page still very slow to come up... and so I am not so sure about the answer*smiles*
I have been thinking whether each page will come up fast or slow depends on your internet connection. I am using ADSL right now. Sometimes, it is super fast and some times it is just as slow as using a dial up...
By the way, who is that on your avatar? So cute photo you have there...

Click on the status bar again and agin so that the progress bar will move faster. Try this it has worked for me already. it doesnt work for other browsers.

It is a habit I picked up from my mom..I think it just seems that way because if we just stare at it loading(the little bar)it seems to take forever. Just like they say never watch a pot of water your trying to boil takes forever so the mouse takes our focus off of it and so it does seem it loads faster..for me anyhow..I have dial up which is turtle powered..lol | |

I have a old computer my mom bought me about 7 years ago it was a windows 95 I had it upgraded to a windows 98 by a friend and it only has 133 mhz and not alot of memory and I can't do high speed on it. It only dials up to a 14.4 or lower and my modem is only a 14.400 bps slow. takes a few minutes to load each page takes all day to check my mail even though I don't get much. I got another computer that is faster but it doesn't have a modem so that will cost me and the installing it right now money is tight so I have to wait on it..maybe by christmas? I shold tell everone to just donate money towards helping me fix up my computer..lol Think it would work the other computer has over 500 mhz and lots more memory and will be somewhat faster because I will be putting in a 56k modem. Well wish me luck.. | |

I think it's got something to do with the fact I'm not very patient in waiting for a page to load, and moving the mouse around really fast saying 'C'mon, c'mon, grrrr' makes it seem to take twice as long!!!

i find that i can't open too many mylot screens at one time, and perhaps it's because there are too many graphics, a screen can take forever to load.

Really if the internet is very slow I try to let the mouse hover to the top right side of the page where you have the button for minimize and enlarge and X and I think it also loads fast. I tipped my sister about this, let the mouse point to that area while waiting and it does come out faster than just waiting and not doing anything.

I can't see how moving the mouse around could actually make it faster, though when I tried it seemed to as well. I think it's just because we're distracted by the mouse and don't realize it took the same amount of time. Or maybe it's some kind of magic computer trick that no one has figured out yet, and you're the first.=P

Does this increase the speed of loading? lol. I would think it makes it faster psychologoically since you are not staring at it, waiting for it to finish loading.
