Irony of Guns, Cars and Killing. |
|
Isn't it ironic that, if you commit a crime with a gun, you lose your right to own a gun... but rarely do gun grabbers argue that a person who kills with their car should lose their drivers license.
Apparently it isn't killing or death they hate... it's just guns.

1. redyellowblackdog (3984) | 3 years ago | You got that right. If you have been following the gun control debate for decades like I have you have also noticed the gun grabbers no longer talk about reducing the killing if guns are banned.
Yes, I'm serious. Next time you hear or see some of their propaganda, pay close attention. They talk about how "GUN DEATHS" will be reduced. They use to talk about reducing the killing if guns were banned. Then it was pretty convincingly proven that eliminating guns affects the murder rate not at all, and serious injury from other weapons sky rockets upward.
So, it is that the gun grabbers now talk about reducing the deaths from guns. This is only because the overall death rate will not be affected at all and serious injuries from other weapons will increase. Sure, banning guns will reduce deaths from guns, but not deaths overall one bit and more people will suffer from serious injuries (usually from knives). The thing of it is, no one wanting to commit murder stops because they do not have a gun. This is real life fact.

2. twbigdogsgirl (1027) | 3 years ago | I would have to agree with you! Guns don't kill, people do. I firmly believe that if you kill someone with a car, you should never be allowed to drive again. Unless it was a true "accident" like someone running/driving out in front of you and you had no where to go and it was not preventable.
I am all for gun ownership. GO NRA!!

ParaTed2k (4586) | 3 years ago | Not only are you usually allowed to drive again, even many gun grabbers will DEFEND your "right" to drive again... even though driving was never a "right" in the first place.

But I also know that losing a license is not enough - we arrest people every day for driving without a license. They need to lose their car! The only way to make people responsible, unfortunately is to hit them in their pocketbooks!

ParaTed2k (4586) | 3 years ago | Lose their car? Oh, you total fascist! You stormtrooper! How dare you say that someone who has proven they can't handle the responsibility of owning a car should be at risk of losing their right to own one?:~D

visitorinvasion (3604) | 3 years ago | No offense against your job, DJ, but after they order the cops to take the citizens' guns, the military is going to take the cops' guns too...just like they did in New Orleans. Just heard it on the radio this afternoon.

ParaTed2k (4586) | 3 years ago | Well, something tells me that the gun grabbers would have been among the 1/3rd of the colonists who were against any kind of revolution against King George.

5. Destiny007 (4538) | 3 years ago | It's even more ironic when you consider that owning a gun IS a right...an UNALIENABLE RIGHT...which means it cannot be taken away...while driving a car is merely a privilege...

ParaTed2k (4586) | 3 years ago | Just using an example of something socially acceptable, even though it is used in the killing of far more people than guns.
You can live under the delusion of "cars good, guns bad" if you want. Of course, that is your right.
