If someone owes you some money, will you ask him/her to return it to you? |
|
Supposed someone owed you some money (it is not a big amount), will you ask him.her to return it to you? Frankly, I will feel too embarrassed to say it. Anyway, it is not a big amount, I have to forget it. So I hope this one can remember it and return the money to me.

1. liana_pescarus (712) | 3 years ago | Hmmm... I would ask them. Unfortunately, it happends to me too to forget... I don;t do it on purpose but I do... And I would not feel bad for people to remind me. I'm human, I'm dizzy, I forget a lot. It's normal to make mistakes:))

2. meemingNEW (887) | 3 years ago | Well in my case, if it's a small amount.. most of my friends just tend to forget to pay them. But even though its a small amount, I still think that if they are really my real friends.. then they should have to pay for what they owe me.. But I guess I just let them get away with their debts.:( But it's just okay for me. I just wanna help them with any way I can financially. And yeah, I am also embarrassed to ask for what they owe thats why I just forget it too.

youless (15219) | 3 years ago | You are right. No matter it's a small or big amount, we should return to it. It is a very bad habit to forget to return the money. You will lose your credit and it doesn't deserve it.

meemingNEW (887) | 3 years ago | Yep.. Big or small.. It is still money.. And the fact that they "owe" us money.. the right thing to do is to pay.:(

3. williamjisir (13039) | 3 years ago | I used to be very shy to ask the person who borrowed my money to return it to me. I had experienced this for one time like this. One of my students asked me for one hundrend RMB and never gave it back to me as I was shy to ask him for it. I had to forget about it. Later as I was often asked to lend some money to my students, one of my colleagues told me to ask the one to write a note for borrowing money, I did so. This way, I will ask the guy to give it back to me at due time.

youless (15219) | 3 years ago | Frankly, I can't imagine that a student can owe money from a teacher. It would never happen when I was a student. Maybe today it is different...
| |
|
|
williamjisir (13039) | 3 years ago | That happened to me in 1997 when I first moved to a new school. Ever since I have tried not to deal with money borrowing problem with any students unless I think he is a reliable one. Usually if one comes to me to borrow some money, I would ask them to go their head teachers instead of me. My face is much thicker now. lol

4. mikecrush (127) | 3 years ago | Once a friend borrowed 500 bucks for his wedding expenses . I didn't think twice and provided the dough. He says he will pay me back in a few months. Promises of paying back is always easier said than done. This is the fifth year and this person has bought a BMW a big house and my measly 500 was not returned. I asked him to return my money but he just says okay okay..
so, to keep our friendship i have forgotten the sum and treated it as his wedding gift .Today, when someone asks for money, my answer is a simple no! i rather donate to charity .

5. Madona1 (1242) | 3 years ago | If someone owes me some money (it is not a big amount), as you said I would not ask for it due to the embarrassment. However, I wouldn’t lend him (her) money anymore and may lose the trust on him (her).
More then 15 years ago, my mum’s friend borrowed about 600 pounds from me and promised me to return in month’s time. After one month, she didn’t return the money and I called her for the money as it was a big money at that time. And it was all my savings. Fortunately, she returned my money.

7. desertdarlene (5843) | 3 years ago | I would try not to "loan" people money because I've had people get extremely nasty when I've asked for it back. Yes, you could sue, but sometimes it's not worth it and you have to prove that you lent it to them and that it wasn't a gift. If I have the money to spare and it wouldn't hurt me to give it to someone, then I would give it to them and hope that they pay me back. Or, I would make them sign a promisary note if it was a large amount.
There's an old saying, I think, that says that you should never loan money to friends because that's a sure friendship killer.

|
youless (15219) | 3 years ago | That's true. Lending money to friends is likely to lose the friendship and money...

Immortalsoul07 (132) | 3 years ago | If they need money, you lend them but most people don't know how paid back. They don't do their obligation. I guess you can make a promissory note that it must be paid back with interest. hehe.. One of my friends told me not to lend money because it can break friendship.

10. faith210 (8437) | 3 years ago | Hi youless! There are times that I do ask for it to be returned in a very, very nice way(as I am begging) because like you, I am embarrassed to ask it back. However, there are times I need it too so I have to ask for it. But most of the time, if it is not too big, I just pray and hope it will be paid back to me. Have a nice day and take care.
