Do you think those UK lottery winning emails are Legit or scam? |
| |
| I keep recieveing emails about winning a large sum of money from the Uk and well i dont know if its real or a scam? I would most definately collect this money but dont want to disclose any info if its a scam. It doesnt ask for my social security or anything but it does as for Name of Beneficiary, address,city/state,nationality,sex,email address, telephone number, occupation, next of kin, age, amount won, ticket number ect.. But i think some of these are pretty weird, next of kin and beneficiary. What do you think? | | Email | | | | |

| | I agree with your other responder. These emails come in by the truckload at all of my email addresses. They get your information when you take certain online surveys or sign up for certain offers. It is a phishing scam. They are looking for names and addresses... and not for the purpose of sending you any money. Never give them any info. In fact, never give those emails a second glance, just delete them. (And any other emails you get telling you you've "won" money, or you've got "money waiting") They are all phishing scams looking for peoples' names and addresses, so they can send you MORE scams... it's a vicious cycle. Just delete them. | | | | | | |

| | Yes, it is too bad that it isn't real, but it is a scam and you will be sorry. You may find that your information is stolen or that your computer doesn't run well anymore. One way or another, something bad may happen and you will wish you had not opened it and given info. Please don't give it. | | | |

| | I think it is a scam, if you get more than one like I have, you'll see that it will be from different people and companies, but it will be the same letter and the same winning numbers. I think it has something to do with identity theft overseas. Anytime you've supposedly won something, and you can't find a legit address anywhere or all it is is a phone number or email address to contact that person, it's something fishy about it. | | | | | | |

| | I would have grabbed the chance to get the money if it was not a scam. Who does not need money anyway! But true enough, just like the other responders here are saying that these are but scam emails. They come to your inbox to lure you. If you fall to their caprices, these hackers and scammers would have all the last laughs. Don't be misled with their good 'offers' for they would just hack your information and use them for illegal purposes. Don't share any private information specially bank accounts and pin numbers or credit card informations to unknown entities or indiviudals. | | | | | | |

| | I think they are scams and I don't even open them anymore. In fact I think they go to my spam filter now. I programmed most stuff like that to hit the spam filter. I think these are scams that want your personal identification, where you live and your address. It might be someone wanting to take your identity or something. I don't open anything that I didn't request.. or if I don't know them. I got a trojan from opening something and downloading what was offered.. and I am not going to do it again. It just isn't worth wrecking your identity or your computer. | | | | | | |

| | It is definitely a SCAM. I also receive lots of it. I have scamomatic bookmarked on my computer. I also read testimonials regarding these fraud emails. First they will email you about the money that you can get if you just help them for example being the next of kin of whoever person it was. Then if you got in their bait they will ask you to send an amount for the processing fee and what so ever to make the release of the money in couple of days. And then they will just vanished when you already sent money to them. | | | | | | |

| | i think those are simply scam for all the time they ask to open a new account in some specified account. mostly they are only meant for the UK or US citizens so think they are simply fake for i live in India and till date i have not received any thing through those lotteries. | | | | | | |
