theprogamer (7518) | 3 years ago | Oh dear Misti, I understand your liking the white and black rose.
I'll tell you some of the meanings of the black rose though. In today's world its used by the "goth" culture. In other cases it means hatred and death. Personally, I've equated it with some negative connotation due to its history; Nazi Germany adopted the black rose after defeating a local resistance White Rose.
I actually didn't know those roses smelled the strongest though. Probably cause I frequent red, pink, white, sometimes yellow or teal variations of a rose.

2. MisterPlus (966) | 3 years ago | Having to choose between roses colors it is very important for others but, what if the guy who's giving it doesn't even know the meaning of colors in flowers? Don't you think it is unjust.

anneng (553) | 3 years ago | no its not really..

theprogamer (7518) | 3 years ago | Some people just don't know. Especially since the major language of flowers is based in the 18th-19th century and its largely not used in the modern world.

3. neljan19 (733) | 3 years ago | It is a wonder how a single bloom could embody beauty, romance, passion and a whole world of emotions. The color of flower reflects different types of emotions, making it very effective way of silent communication. I, too, prefer white roses coz it signify purity, innocence, happy love, youthfulness, heavenly, humility and reverence.

theprogamer (7518) | 3 years ago | Heh, soul of a poet there Nel. I share your emotions regarding roses and flowers in general. White roses are pretty cool for their symbolism, but also in amateur botany, its good for getting a lighter color in a crossbreed.

7. goddessglamourpuss (219) | 3 years ago | I am aware that flowers have different meanings but I haven't really kept up with them so in that sense it wouldn't bother me too much. Between a white and a red rose I think I would have to choose white because it would mean that the giver has chosen it because it is different. My partner tends to go for red because of all the cliches and thinks that I would be happy with a dozen of them whereas I would prefer to recieve the white because it is more unusual - or any nice bunch of flowers really. For me, it really is the thought that counts.

Red roses seek to congratulate a job well done and to express respect and appreciation. Red rose celebrates the creative spirit of love.
