Potty training "browns" | | I'm not looking for advice, just wanted to share my story... My youngest turned 3 last month. I was truely hoping to have her potty trained by then, but alas, it's not working out. I've been trying to keep her on a schedule...potty first thing in the morning, right after breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc. she does pretty good with the potty, and she gets really excited when the #2 comes with it! She just hasn't made that connection yet, of going BEFORE it happens in the diaper!
Today, she did something I STILL haven't figured out. She was wearing a pull-up and filled it up (with wet.) while sitting on the couch. She then continued to poop. However, there was absolutely NO poop IN the pull-up. It was all over the couch, down her leg, back, on the OUTSIDE of her diaper, but nothing inside it. It was on correctly, that was the first thing I checked! I have no idea how this brown goo got all over the place! LOL Megan, even, doesn't know. (or at least she's not talking!)
Sorry for the yucky story, but hopefully, I made you smile. Do you have a potty training story you'd like to share? What was the worst thing you dealt with while Potty training?

I have been a babysitter for over 40 years and have seen almost all they can pull off,but even I get surprized now and then. As you are not looking for advise,I will not give you any,but if you wish,I can. thanks for the discussion.

creematee (1645) | 3 years ago | Thanks mac! The thing is... she never left my sight. She was sitting on the couch with the kitty on her lap the whole time! I guess the world will never know on that one. LOL!
My oldest would always run behind the couch, chair, bed, whatever and hide. He then, would strip down to his diaper and make poo. Sometimes, he would "paint" the wall with it. (YUCK!)
Megan is making progress, so it will just take time. The sooner, the better. I'm tired of all the diapers in the garbage! Thanks for the support!!!

creematee (1645) | 3 years ago | Then I do feel for you, Naty! LOL! Megan is getting the hang of it, but just doesn't want too. She'll get there soon enough, I'm sure. Of all the kid duties that one must do to have a child grow up smart and safe, potty training is my least favorite!

creematee (1645) | 3 years ago | Ha! Megan does that...I have learned not to put the TP on the holder. I can never find it when I need it, but at least she can't either when she goes potty. LOL!
Would it help if you started waking your daughter up during the night and take her potty. I know it's a lot of work, and will make for a tired mommy. It may at least get her used to waking up and going potty. Just a thought...
GOod luck with your training!:)

samtaylorskykierajen (5849) | 3 years ago | I have tried hiding the toilet paper but she is too smart and always seems to find it or someone else leaves it out for her lol .
I do wake my daughter up at night as many as three times a night and it is tiring but so far no luck . I just keep hoping that it will become a habit for her being woke up and that she will eventually wake up on her own out of the habit .
Thank you for the advice though as I only just started doing this a couple of months ago as I never thought about doing this before and when you think about it, it does make logic sence that it should eventually work . Hopefully soon, mommy needs some sleep at night:)

creematee (1645) | 3 years ago | I wish you the best of luck with it! OF all the childhood chores a parent has to do to raise their children, Potty traning, I think, is the hardest.
I hope you get a good night sleep, soon!:)

| | 4. ramipalo (572) | 3 years ago | i don't like pullups, it's too easy for kids to use them as a crutch, and i find that it just slows down the process of toilet training. if there was really nothing, then i guess we can rule it just came out the sides. that's usually what happened around here with the pullups. they just can't hold as much in them. so she might have pulled them down, if she's used to doing that. i am potty training my 2 year old right now, so he has full roam of the house naked. it's just around the times we've scheduled him to train, but it's easier for him to remember that even underwear are not pampers.

creematee (1645) | 3 years ago | I do agree with you. I do agree that pull-ups make life harder. We've tried the panties, but Megan doesn't quite understand the run to the bathroom when you start to get wet. I haven't figured out her schedule yet, either, but when I do, we'll be out of the diapers/pull-ups in no time.:)
Good luck with your training!

| | 5. Rozie37 (7142) | 3 years ago | I know that you requested no advice on this one, but looking at the picture is kind of disturbing. It looks as though she is very upset. I hope that you are being patient with her and allowing her to move at her own pace. All kids learn at different stages and what worked for one child, may not really work for another.

creematee (1645) | 3 years ago | I appreciate your concern, Rozie! I am letting her go at her own pace. She goes when she she's ready, and I don't force her. I know potty training is difficult, and I think it's my least favorite thing about raising children--because it does take so much time and patience.
She's actually giggling and laughing in the photo. Posing for pictures is one of her favorite things.:)

Rozie37 (7142) | 3 years ago | Good, I am glad to hear that. I looked real good at the picture and I thought that maybe she could be laughing, but with children, it is hard to tell sometimes. She is a beautiful little girl and I am glad that you did not get offended. That was not my intent at all.
