Diaper free from birth?

I liked the concept too. I don't think it's very realistic though for americans since the practice is very time consuming. Constantly running to the toliet every time the child needs to go, specially at a infant could you imagine!? We did cloth diapers to help with awareness and potty train quicker plus it's so much better for the enviroment. I agree no poopy diapers is the way to go!

That would be great to have no poopy diapers. Not only are the diapers bad for the environment, but it's very costly to purchase them. I unfortunately use disposable diapers because I don't have constant access to a washing machine. I am currently pregnant with my second child and my first daughter is 15 months old. If we had no diapers, I would save a ton of money!

I know a few people who do this. I have "caught a pee" a few times with my youngest daughter over the toilet. But I didn't give it the attention needed in the beginning to learn her signals. It is definitely interesting and the few women that I know who do this regularly are very successful at making it work. Generally the babies that I know of are put in cloth diapers "just in case" in between potty time.

That's a nice idea if you don't have a job and can devote all your time at home to your child. In my life right now, I am thankful for diapers, but I do agree that after changing about 1,000 dirty diapers or so you can get a little tired of it. It's a great idea for people who could put that much time into doing it.

Well..it is true. I started with my older son since birth. I did use a diaper when we were out (in case of accidents). We would return with an unsoiled diaper and he would go only in the toilet.He was totally potty trained by 1.5 years.
I started a little late with my younger one (I've been too busy). He's 9 months now and I started training at 8 months. I take him to the toilet and prompt him. It works!
We weren't totally diaper free. I did use one every night and when we went out.
With my older son it was very easy. I think with the little one it's going to be a LITTLE difficult 'coz we started late.

That is unreal.But whoever thought of it was smart.. I know it would take alot of time and effort to do that with a infant child. I would of gave it a try why my girls was little if I knew about it..
