Do you ever feel....Tired?

You have every right to be tired so, first of all, stop beating yourself up! You're obviously very proud of your parents and I'll bet they're just as proud of you. I was just involved in a discussion on myLot an hour or so ago and it infuriated me so I wanted to hit someone, and I'm a very anti-violent person. My heart hurts to when I think about gays (or any group) being discriminated against and especially when there is violence against them. These people have the gall to use religion as their justification for their hateful words and actions!
I'm very happy for you that your son was able to "come out" to you; I doubt if I have to tell you you're both blessed to have such a close, loving relationship. I'm trying to remember if I saw any comments from you in that discussion I mentioned above, but if you haven't seen it and you want something to get you fired up and, I'm sure, WIDE AWAKE look for "I HATE..." I think she used symbols somewhere in the word "hate" but I can't remember for sure now. This woman's a mom, it's even part of her username, but to me she's a MONSTER. Oh, and of course she thinks as she does because it's God's wishes...Hang in there and keep fighting the good fight!

The question is when am I not tired? But, I get your point. I went to classes today, and after my last class I went to Starbucks, now, I go to a Starbucks next to my college and another college, a "Christian" college. The people from this "Christian" college can be a bunch of biggots and fanatics to the point of insanity. One of them was shouting the "F" that refers to homosexuals in a negative way in the parking lot, and I wanted to throw a rock at him because it was offensive, and because there are people in that community who are possibly homosexuals and they just have not come out yet. Personally, I am straight, but I do know many people who are homosexuals and there are some members of my family who are homosexuals. I would never disown them or not call them my friends. They are who they are and people need to accept it. My step-father's family are a bunch of biggots sometimes, and I find myself having to defend my friends and some of my family members on nearly a daily basis. Honestly, I do not think that I should have to defend my homosexual friends and family members, I think people should just get with the program and accept them for who they are and not what they are. Enough is enough!

its exhausting being the voice for others...I'm like that on a different level with the kids in my life...I think too that because it IS such an emotional and personal topic for you its EXTRA draining because your heart and soul is put into it as well....

Sometimes cyntrow you IMO should just take a step back and breathe.....I think its absolutely wonderful that you are following your parents footsteps BUT you have to remember that they have yrs of practice behind them so they HAVE that balance and know their limits and have set boundries for themselves..You have yet to learn that..why not try talking to them about it? somehow you have to find that same balance, maybe they can give you some insight as to how to do that....

and btw you should be beyond proud of yourself! Ppl DON'T step up enough for the things that are right even when its an issue on a personal level....Kudos to you in the biggest way!!

well i salute you for accepting your child identity. not many people will do that. well if i have a child like that i will supoort my child too. i will not make him feel bad about it. i wil accept him.

I think that as long as there is a need for it I will always fight for the equal treatment of homosexual people. I understand being tired I truely do. I'm tired of the fact that we even have to go through any of this. The fact that people are being discriminated against just because of who they love and want to be with, how freaking retarded is that? Since when did it become wrong to fall in love? I don't understand why society feels the need to dictate to people who they can and can't love and be with, based off some prudish belief that its ucky. WTF. My heart goes out to your son, he's got a long road ahead of him. Keep doing what you're doing though, stand by him and be there for him when he needs you. Kudos to you.

Sweety every one tires sometimes - even someone as wonderful of you! The thing is when you do get so tired you really should rest as much as you can - if you burn out you won't be able to do much to help the situation now will you?
