I need your advice/computer problem.  |

 I have this HP laptop computer and have the following problem:
A- sometime it start and sometime it does'nt
B- when it does'nt I will disconnect the power, and connect again then might start also MAYBE!!!!
C- When it start and I go online could work for 5 or ten minutes and then crashed, so I have to go thru the whole procedure that I mentioned again and again.
Finally yesterday I took it the this computer lab which supposly they have flat rate of $50.00 repairs all computers . The man told me could be a mother-board and the job could cost about $400.00 Is that real? the computer new doe'nt worth this kind of money.
Is this guy trying to rip me off?
If it it is mother-board How much should I offer him for the job? my budget is no more than $100.00
is there any way to fix these mother-boards istead of going into such big expense to replace them???

It seems like what he is saying about your repairs isn't too far off the components are expensive. It might be a heating/cooling issue as well so maybe elevating the laptop off of the surface you are using could help.
But when it comes to repairs HP laptop repairs are tough. I'd google HP motherboard/power supply problems, and that should come up with something.

| theprogamer (7518) | 3 years ago | I think its more of a physical problem like a busted powersupply and busted motherboard or both. But it could be windows' doing, the OP's info on the crashes wasn't specific on blue screens or error messages. But from the sound of it, the motherboard is overheating (hence the crashing) and the powersupply isn't distributing the power right to the machine (hence the starting problems).
Still with machines and computers, anything is possible.
