Are we priming our daughters to be the fairer sex?  

Fairy tales such as Snow White and Cinderella, are they really healthy lessons for our daughters to learn. Both women in these stories needed a man to rescue them, were they really the weaker sex who depended on a man to complete their womanhood or could they have fended for themselves in times of danger. No I am not a man hater or lesbian or anything like that, I just wonder if our daughters are growing up with the impression that their role in life is to tend solely to the needs of their man and their offspring. Do girls see themselves as little mothers or are they given a wider experience in life, women firefighters, women police officers etc. What role models do we give our daughters to look up to, is it the model of the catwalk or one from the 'real world'?
