I got a call for a job interview! Wish me luck! |
|
The best part is that it is in the field that I most want to work in! Real Estate.
I have a Real Estate license, but I didn't find success as a Realtor. I've all but given up on that dream.
I hope I impress her. This would be a great way to get me a paycheck and maybe get me motivated to one day give it another try on my own.
In the meantime, I'll be glad to do the clerical stuff and help someone else achieve their goals. I'll be learning as I work.
Wish me luck!

miamilady (2498) | 3 years ago | Yeah, it is. I think I'm better suited for the "behind the scenes" stuff, for now anyway. That's why I'm hoping this works out. It's just what I want.

7. halina23 (1115) | 3 years ago | Good luck to ya! I hope you are able to snag it. I don't know much about Miami property, but it must be priced far better than property here in Wisconsin and Illinois. So, you get a much better commission down there. Good luck!
I may have a job interview of my own soon, the second one now for the same position...it's at the same company I currentlt work at.

miamilady (2498) | 3 years ago | Prices here are high. Too high. That's part of the reason the market has bottomed out. Things aren't selling. High inventory. Nobody's buying. It's a buyers market but people still aren't buying. The investors saturated the market and now there are more investors than people who would live in the homes. The people who would live in the homes can't afford the mortgage, taxes and insurance.
The insurances rates have skyrotted, primarily due to the number of hurricanes that passed through Florida a couple of years ago and the taxes are just plain out of control.
The cost of gas doesn't help either.
It's not a commission job, in my case, which is a good think. I'll be paid an hourly rate. I won't be the Realtor here, I'll be the behind the scenes person.
I wasn't able to establish myself as a successful Realtor when I tried. Too many factors working against me.

|
halina23 (1115) | 3 years ago | Sounds like a good compromise. Hourly rates give you stability, and always assure you'll get a paycheck. My aunt does real estate on commission, and some weeks she is barely scraping by. You have to be very aggressive to sell homes, and the work just isn't for everyone. Selling overall requires a certain cut-throat attitude. I know- I work with sales people all the time here at my current company. Yes, you get paid more, but at what cost to your health and sanity?
| |
|
|
miamilady (2498) | 3 years ago | Yeah, I have a lot of the qualities that are required to be a good Realtor, but I don't have that "cut throat" edge. That was part of my problem. I'm a little too idealistic to be an effective salesperson.:-)

|
halina23 (1115) | 3 years ago | Just remember, a house isn't small- it's cozy. And, it's not a crap shack- it's a fixer-upper. Or, it's not rife with area crime- it's in a neighborhood with character.
