How do you prevent clothing stains?

My baby will not wear a bib! So you can imagine how horrible her clothes look after a couple wears. I put the bib on her and she rips it right off! I probably should feed her in a diaper but this isn't always acceptable, especially in public.

Lately, I have been soaking and scrubbing her shirts in hot water at the end of the day. That usually gets the stains right out. I have used popular stain removers like Shout and Spray-n-Wash but those don't work unless you scrub with soap and hot water first anyway! If the clothes are light enough, I will soak a bunch of them in bleach to get the stains out but I have to wash them again to get the bleach smell out.

Do you have any stain removal secrets? Is there any particular product that you use that has worked without any extra effort (such as scrubbing and pre-soaking)?
