Peter Pan Peanut Butter

I don't even remember what the recall was about, but I had eaten out of that peanut butter before my son in law told me to throw it out that there was a recall on it. I know I didn't get sick from it and I was eating it every day. I can't for the life of me remember what was the matter with it.. or why it was recalled.***poor memory*** anyway I always buy the Walmart Brand now. But I probably would use the free coupon if it was for a different batch. I'm sure the company had to fix whatever was wrong. But anyway I just get Walmart brands.

your so luckly. peanut butter hasnt been in the house for a while now. they go out shopping and keep forgetting the peanut butter.

I would probably use it. I'm sure that it is fine now. Otherwise it wouldn't be back on the shelves. Most times, things tend to be better quality than other brands, right after they have been in trouble for something.

Now I'm not saying I would switch to Peter Pan, though. That is what I grew up eating, but now I prefer Skippy. A free jar of Peter Pan could be used for my husband, though. He doesn't have a preference, as long as it is peanut butter. lol

Yes,I would use the coupon. Everything has been checked out and is okay now. So I wouldnt be worried about it. I love free coupons. I use them even if we dont like the product. I just pass it on to a friend.

I received the coupon in the mail, too. My husband and I actually contracted salmonella from our jar of Peter Pan peanut butter. He was very ill for about a week. I had a milder case because I was taking tetracycline for a different bacterial infection at that time.

All that being said, I will most likely redeem the coupon. I'm sure the moisture problem at the factory has been remedied by now; or the FDA would not have allowed them to resume production.

I almost died from peter pan peanut butter. 2 people have lost their lives because of it. #2222 on the lid? throw it out unless you became sick, then call the dr. A leaky roof that leaked for months is why. Great Value sold by walmart is another brand. Walmart will be selling this soon. I still cant believe this would happen in the good old USA.

I would use it. I grew up on Peter Pan and I missed it while it was off the shelves. I bought a BIG jar of it the day it came back on the shelves.

when i was still working in convergys, we actually encountered this alarming situation early this year... customers calling about the Peter Pan Peanut butter recall were routed to us agents and we have to get information about the product hey bought including the serial number and who in their families were affected by the Salmonella contamination...it was very startling coz every minute frantic calls would come after another and believe me, they were not happy about it... even some of the customers would call about their household pets being sick coz they too have been fed with the peanut butter... didn't know what happened after that since i already resigned from the company... but i do know that the client promised all of the callers to have refunds and would shoulder for all their consultations, hospitalizations and medical bills.

personally I wouldn't but mostly because I don't like that brand I would rather eat JIff or skippy. I have never been much of a peter pan brand fan.

It depends on the reason why it was pulled from the shelf in the first place.
