do u like to find out the gender of your baby? or do u wait til s/he is born?

I haven't had any kids yet and i often wonder what i will do when the time comes. Truthfully, I would love to be surprised on the day of the delivery when my child comes out, but realistically I think I would have to know so like you said I can buy all the things I need to buy. I know you can get a lot of the neutral colors, but the best baby clothes are usually for a specific gender and I know shopping for your baby is probably one of the best parts so I think for that purpose I would need to know.

When I saw the title of Your discussion I was suppose to write something different. But after reading this I realize why you want to know the gender in advance. This is a good thinking. But for me I wont concerned about the gender. I will wait up to his or her birth. Gender discrimination is not good in my viewpoint

I can't tell you how many times when the child is born, how happy their parents were that they waited. I would wait too. It makes it even more exciting when the labor starts. And you can play games and make bets with who's right. We played a game with my nephew, we all guess the height, weight, and gender. Some of us were so close. It's very exciting finding out when they are born.

Right now I'm pregnant with my second child and I can't wait to find out the gender. I also found out the first time around (girl). If my second child is a boy (hopefully), then I might not ask for the gender for the next pregnancy. That's assuming I even have three kids. That way, I'd already have all the necessary clothing. I'm not entirely sure that I could wait, though.

It's illegal here (in India) to find out the gender of the child.There are a lot of unscruplous doctors who do it though (for the money). The reason being that female foetuses are aborted most of the time because the parents do not want a girl child (for various reasons).
Anyways, I didn't know the gender of my children before they were born. The first time, I had a feeling it was a boy and it sure was. Second time...I had no idea if it was a boy or a girl. Though most of the people I knew said it would be a girl, my mind said nothing. It turned out to be another boy.

I like to know things like that ahead of time.:)

during my pregnancy,me ang my husbans was very eager to know the gender of our baby...we like to know coz we wanted to be prepared..with all the clothes,the things and the stuff.well,for me i hate surprises,i want to know if i have the way to know it...cant wait for another time just to have it or what...thats why when i was 5 mos pregnant we had it ultra sound to know the gender.but for us it doesnt matter whether its a boy or a girl as long as our baby is healthy..no child birth defects or what so ever..so from that day forward..im buying the stuff the my baby needs..even if i knew the gender still imvery much excited with our baby..i've been counting the days and months until my due date..despite what i went through with the long hours labor.when i get to touch and see my baby all those pains that ive been through were gone...and it feels great to feel her and touches her..it completes me.

As for me, I do not want to know the gender of my baby beforehand cause it will not be a surprise anymore. Anyway, I can buy unisex things for my baby.
