What Color Should The White House Be? |
|
Or should we just change the name altogether?
Okay, here's the deal. I hate the name "the White House." Some poeple think that it is called that because the house is painted White. And even if that were the case, the fact remains that the United States of America has a very color-sensitive past.
I guess I get sick and tired of people saying that the past is the past yet when our nations government representation is called the "white house," surely I cannot be dumbed down to think that they innocently selected it because of the color of the paint.
So what do you think about this? Should the white house be painted some different color? Or should they just call it a different name? And if so, what name do you think?
I thought "The President's House"

And purple is my daughter's favorite color so I think that PURPLE would be really nice. I don't think people give it much thought but calling it a color, considering all of the racial crap in the USA, would help at least send a message to the people of the USA that we are moving in the right direction. I don't think it's a trivial issue either. But that's just my honest opinion.

Actually there are a lot of people who study the history of the united states and ask this same question. So why not talk about it?

Also, I get sick and tired of the change over. But in the case of 8 years of Bush the Son and let's not forget Bush the father, I am ready for a new change...you know, "a kinder, gentler America."

4. barbaradjt (4120) | 3 years ago | Eh, I don't care what they call the White house. I wouldn't mind seeing Obama get in office though. I think it would do our country good. That would prove more to me than any paint color.
