The One That Got Away... Do you have one?

Sometimes I really wonder if there would be the "one" in life. Anyway, I really loved a person and it was hard for me to let go, I thought he was the "one" but he cheated on me, so apparantly, that was only my thought. We are still friends now but I am not really he was the "one" who escaped. I, somehow, stop looking for the "one" now, the thought is just too tiring and we never really know if he is the "one" until the story ends.*laughs* So I just take it easy for now and try to be happy most of the time.

I did. I had to let him 'get away' because the timing was all wrong for us. In hindsight he (and his parents) were completely right with that decision but it left me devastated for the longest time.

I found him again, though. Not that I ever really let go of my hope or that we ever really lost touch. We talked periodically, by the phone or email or letter. Even when he got engaged to the second love of his life, I knew it wouldn't pan out so it wasn't a huge surprise to me that after she broke his heart he reached out to me for support, and 6 or 7 months later, we struck up where we left off. It's been over 2 years now.

nope...i was never has happy with any other guy except for with the guy i am with now...he is so wonderful he is always there for me wen i need him most...he is my everything

Yes, I have one of those! And I wonder sometimes if I had known more, and done things differently, if it would have worked out differently too...

Of course, I was too young to have known any better, but I learned a lot from it too... My high school boyfriend, whom was a new boyfriend at the time... took me to prom, and I thought for sure we were going to be high school sweet hearts and live happily ever after. We had so much in common, and we really had a lot of fun together... But I spent so much time trying to make him happy, and want me, that I really lost touch with just being 'me' and he eventually got bored and wandered astray... we were both young, and at the time, i'm sure it was nothing to either of us, well to me, I wanted to marry the guy, but we still had a lot to learn about life, and love, and living, and all things in between.

But, I wonder now... it's one of those things... if I knew then, what I know now... would things have been different. I wanted him to be 'the one' and I think in another time in our lives, maybe if we were both a bit older and wiser, we really could have made each other very happy. He was free spirited like me, not grounded to any place or time, loved to travel, try new things, meet new people... loved music and dancing, good food... all of it. We had SO much in common.

But, I guess what's meant to be will be, and it wasn't 'us'... haha...

I have to say though, that i'm with someone now that makes me happier than I can even describe. We're planning on eloping here soon, and I am so excited! WE too, have SO much in common, I love it! I love being able to be 'me' and not worry about what he thinks, because he loves me for that, and we share that mutually... he loves being able to be 'him' and I still love him anyways... it's great.*sigh*

Life is bliss...
