What are some music favorites you can remember from your parents generation?

Oh i can never forget the BEATLES!!
My father loves them so much, he has a collection of their albums, even my brother loves them now.
i do love their music and i admit i'm still listening to their songs at some points of my life. I think they can never be forgotten...

Another is Madonna and Beegees songs...love em too.

Monaliza, green Green Grass of home are also one of my favorite from my parents time......but they were all so nice to hear and lovely.

I remember in particular 'Dream'. It goes like D -r e-e-e-e am, dream, dream, dream ... I think its by the Beatles, and my mom used to love it when she was young!

my music favorites from my parent's generation are the songs of johnny mathis, frank sinatra, engelbert humperdinck, nat king cole, and mat monroe. I love their voices and the way they sing

Those songs people are sharing from their parents' generation (e.g. Beatles, BeeGees, etc.) are from MY generation! So, I guess I'm old enough to be the mom of some of the posters (and, likely, old enough to be the grandma of some of the youngest ones) at age 55 (56 in December).

My folks were both in 1917 and 1922, so some of my favorites from their youth are:

Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Perry Como, Kate Smith, Hank Snow, Roy Acuff, Sons Of The Pioneers, Roy Rogers & Dale Evans, Gene Autry, Burl Ives, Doris Day, and Kay Starr
