Finally a dining room table set

I am very happy for you all..Buying things for our own home is such a joy and I am sure you all will enjoy your new table..moreover it is an adventure finding a good item not costing a fortune so..congratulations again..I love furniture and I love going to places where you can see them just for the enjoying the view of all the furniture arranged in different ways..I admit that interior design is another of my passions and there is always something to learn..so I congratulate you on your purchase and I hope you will have a long "life" together with your new dining room set

I am so happy for you to get this. I can remember when we didn't have one. We got so used to not having a table that we ate out in the living room and we still mostly do that now. I usually eat at the computer. Our table does nothing but hold up some plants and a few books now. We could use it if we wanted to, but we are just out of the habit. It's only here for looks now.

i think that is cheap enough for a dining set. When my kids were small, we bought cheap furniture that have rounded corners to prevent accidents and we can't afford the pricey ones. When they grew up, we bought a dining set made of hardwood with carvings. We have been using it for 15 years and it is still in its orginal form. We bought that equivalent to $350 that time and now it costs equivalent to $900.

Often what you find in the way of older furniture is very well made. It sounds good to me, and just what your family needed. Congrats.

I can so relate here. A few years ago I went in search of a second hand dining table. My partner and I searched all over one Sunday, and were pleasantly surprised at the number of 2nd hand stores we found but the only tables were crappy and shoddy jobs for $300, $400 & $450. We were stunned...they weren't antique stores and the furniture was certainly not valuable or well made even or solid timber, they were timber laminates.
So imagine my joy a few days later when I espied in the junk shop just up the road from us a sturdy retro table for $25...lol. I was able to put it on my roof racks and drive home and set it up ready to surprise my partner when he got home.....we were laughing!

I know how it feels to be tableless! My niece, broke my dinning room table (it was a cheap one, just glass and four metal chairs but it was better then not having anything. Well my anniversary was around the corner and my Mom and Dad got me a nice one that 8 comfortably considering we have 7 in our family that was as small as we could go:)
