Lol...Yeah, I fully agree that "pansit" is indeed an "all time Filipino favorite."

If I may ask, though, michecu, what particular kind of "pansit" do you like best and why?

I love pansit too!! dyan daw ako pinaglihi bwehhee! but my son eats Mi Goreng packet noodle from Indonesia everyday-- but it seems that the condiments' giving him bad breath aaaarrrghh!

lol... If I may ask, moolahmagnet, where else is Mi Goreng noodles available, apart from Indonesia?

When we were in Australia, we bought Mi Goreng in the supermarket. I found them also here in Canada, so it must be available everywhere! Kids seem to like them and my son prepare it himself! I've added photo so you know how it looks like!

Chinese rice noodle? Do you mean "Mi xian". It's a kind of famous food in Yunnan. And it's made of rice-flour not wheat-flour. For I'm a Chinese, and I really like it.

i love ramen because it's quite different from the local instant noodles available in the market. the taste is really delicious...yum! im getting hungry now... and basil pesto is a combination of healthy stuff: basil leaves, olive oil, pine nuts... love the parmesan on it... well, i buy the basil pesto in a local restaurant where they served scrumptious food, a mark's oriental salad.. delish... ramen is an imported product from japan, available in the supermarket though there are alot of japanese restaurants here too... how bout you? do you like these too?

Good thing there are "a lot of japanese restaurants" in your place, shiloh_222, since you could perhaps very easily buy a yummy Japanese ramen anytime.

You are really quite fortunate as well because you could equally easily buy a basil pesto when you're craving for it, since you could simply visit "mark's oriental salad."

I must say that, though I haven't tried Japanese ramen and basil pesto yet, based on your hunger-inducing post alone, I am beginning to like it already.

Before I forget, where is "mark's oriental salad" located? I would perhaps visit it pretty soon so that I could finally try out their delicious basil pesto.

Nothing in particular, to be honest, though I really do enjoy eating noodles.

Given your posts, mark oriental salad is starting to truly tickle my imagination and make my stomach grumble in excitement.

Yeah, I've tried egg noodles several times and, though it is, as you've said, "old fashioned," it is still actually very good.

Like you, sherrir101, I also like to prepare my own egg noodles, especially when I'm yearning for one.

I'm right there with you sherrir! My absolute favorite noodle are homemade egg noodles. I like them thick too, but with beef.

You must definitely be very lucky to have kids who could easily "take a hand at the kitchen," when you could not do the cooking.
