What if you saw a wallet that is not yours, would you keep it or return it?  |

 Have you encountered this one? You were walking in the street when you saw a wallet that is not yours? Would you handover it to the owner or keep it with you? I admit I encountered this one year ago. When I am walking at the town, I saw a color black wallet on the ground. I picked it up and I tried to see the inside of the wallet to see if there is an ID so that I will be able to handover it to the owner. What I found is a credit card and a 1000 worth of money. Luckily, there is an ID. The owner is a student from a recognized University. Since the school is very near only at town, I immediately went there and return it to the owner by giving it to the security guard there. After doing that, I just felt that I've done what is right. How about you?

I will confess to maybe contemplating keeping the money but then the shame burns through me and i always do the right thing. People always seem genuinely shocked on having these things returned, returns a little faith in humanity

2.  tanjam420 (175) | 3 years ago |  i have not encountered that yet... but if i were to i would also look in it ot see if there was an id and then mail it to the owner, or find the address and give it to them personally... a few years ago my purse was stollen at a sky resort and the person who did it scattered everything which included pictures of my boys id,insurance cards you name it it was in my purse... when the cops finally found it nothing was there nobody had the decencey to pick the stuff up and turn it into the office.. i cried for days over those pictures. i wasnt worried about the other stuff well i was but the picures were the first pictures of my son when he was born. he was life flighted to another hospital so that was all i had.. it was very senbtimental to me. now i have learned not to carry pictures or anything eles of value in my purse you never know what will happen...

There was, but it was an out of state ID. I took it to the front desk since they could look up the name and see if it was a student living in the building. It was. Unfortunately, the money he said he had in there was gone.

if I found a wallet like that I would certainly be tempted to keep it. you have done a good thing. that is very noble of you.
I admit I have found things before which I kept for myself. but nowadays if I found something like that I would give it certainly to the owner. or to the nearest lost and found center.
but you have not met the owner of the wallet? he would certainly be thankful of you if you have met him.
