What makes us smarter?

That's a very good question. I think it has to do more with applied intellegence. You can have a high IQ, but do you use it?

I think common sense and the passion to want to know things, research and come to a logical conclusion is more important than someone who is smart and doesn't use it.

Anyone can learn, if they want to. I think the driving force for wanting to learn is what makes us smarter, because you are learning something and then apply it to your life. That's smarter living, that's what makes us smarter. The desire to want to learn.

Phosphatydalserine, actually, it is a food supplement. It is very expensive, though, so many people take lecithin supplements instead as they are much cheaper.

Congratulations on knowing all those languages! Learning many languages surely broadens the mind as well as exercising it. Many people think they are not good in math because of social pressure not to be, especially women. I was told in high school to forget about planning a career in any field requiring my because I didn't have the aptitude. Years later I learned that the score of 29 he had hand-written on my chart was backwards. Yes, I eventually learned that the school's permanent record showed that my correct score had been 92.

My belief is that IQ is pretty much the result of a person's nutrition and experience although many people will disagree.

I think that it is reading that makes us smarter. A learned person is always smarter than one who does not like reading. Because reading can help make your mind more active and it can also make you think. Travelling is another way to make you smarter because your travelling experience will help widen your eyeshot and gain more experience. Of course there are more respects that can help us become smarter.

I don't know if knowing so many languages makes you smarter, I know some people who just lived around other people who speak other languages and picked it up fast because of that, but they aren't the brightest crayon in the box.

I like to read a lot, I'm not saying I'm the smartest person in the world, but I think it really helps.
