Are you superstitious?

I don't really believe in good/bad luck. Things are just what they are it's not because there was good luck involved or bad luck involved in something.

I also don't think you can curse a person and make something happen to them. I don't really think that's how life works.

I had a really bad run of bad luck, lasted 2 years and in that time i split with my kids dad, lost my house, my kids and i became homeless, Was also attacked and had my nose broken, it was all a nightmare! This is where the superstition kicks in, during that time i was forever seeing magpies, always just the one (one for sorrow)A friend of mine told me that when you see a single magpie your ment to greet it to avoid bad luck-i always do now lol Things although not plain sailing have been much better and the future is definitly looking brighter.

I believe that life is what you make it.

When you see people who are successful, the didn't get that way through luck.

They got that way through planning and hard work.

Although bad things happen from time to time that is not luck, that is merely reality.

I don't believe in curses either.

I too think that life is what you make it but when I go through bad patches I look for excuses as to why certain things re happening. I believe thayt if you 'send a curse to someone' it comes back to yuo like a boomerang so it's not something to do at all.
When 3 years ago I was taken into hospital after spending over a month with a very high temperature and was kept in 7 weeks until they found out what was wrong, and during that time the firm I worked for closed down and I lost my job and consequently had to sell my flat to pay the bills I just kept saying 'it never gets darker than midnight' never knwoing whether it was near midnight yet or not. Now it's a year since I sold, I'nm living in a rented flat, doing temporary jobs but managing to pay everything so things are better than before.
Could it be my black 18 year old cat who keeps 'bad things' away? lol

I take the "little bit of everything" approach.

To a degree, life is what you make of it. If you wake up in a bad mood, then most likely you are going to have a bad day, that kind of thing.

Some people just have rotten luck no matter what. I am a classic example, I love my life, am I happ go lucky person, but it seems like $hit happens a lot that I have no control over.

It never hurts to knock on wood, walking under ladders is just plain dangerous, and try not to break mirrors cause above all else broken glass can hurt you!

Yeah, I don't take superstitions too seriously, but I do go for some of them, especially knock on wood, I don't know why, but I always do this when I say it!

I'm not superstitious, but if I didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck at all.

I'm not superstitious. I do believe in coincidences though, and many can be creepy, almost like a curse or a streak of bad luck.

No, I am not a superstitious person. I don't believe in curses, hexes, or anything like that. I believe that we have free will, and we decide our own fate in the end.

no i'm not but since i moved to Louisiana I have seen so strange stuff I was always told that that is the devils work and i guess it has stuck with me

Yes, I do believe in ghosts, spirits, good luck, bad luck, charms,curses, magic, black magic etc, but I am certainly not superstious. These are science, come under parapsychology, which our 'science' is unable to explain. One has to believe it, if he/she believes in god.
