Do you still have older stamps?  email this discussion to a friend?

They recently raised the price of stamps from 39 cents to 41 cents. But how many of us still have those old 39 cent stamps? I know a lot of people who use all their old stamps the day before the rates change, so they won't have to worry about using 2 cent stamps. There are also people like me, who still have stamps from way back when. I've got a couple 37 cents, and about ten 39 cents. I'm trying to get them used up because I'm sick of looking at them sitting on my desk. I like to keep current with the price of stamps, and I hate having to use older ones, especially the 37 cents, since they were from forever ago. I ended up losing them and finding them right before the prices went up to 41 cents. So how many other mylotters still have older stamps they are using?

I don't have them anymore but I did give my older kids a bunch of stamped and addressed envelopes to make it easier for them to send me letters from their dad's house. They weren't able to use them all up before the rates changed so then instead of them being a "cool" gift from mom they just became a hassle because they needed to go get 2 cent stamps to affix to them. A few just came with a 41 cent stamp stuck over the 39 cent one.

LOL, why didn't they just buy a 2 cent stamp? Oh well, at least you tried.

I have old stamps, at least three of the packages and I plan to use them when I send out my manuscript. The whole box is going to be plastered with stamps. However, I have to purchase American stamps for them to send it back if they do not want it, but maybe they can send a post card with either "Your manuscript has been submitted," or "your manuscript stinks," or if they do not want me to feel bad, "I wanted to publish your manuscript but that old stinker of my boss did not want me to." :)
