Saving at the Grocery store-- the only high point of the trip |

| Grocery shopping Saving with club cards and coupon(s) I am one that hates to grocery shop with a royal passion, simply because prices are so high. Ok dealing with people is not my cup of tea, walking on my foot there are many downsides to shopping in my book Well for the next 2 weeks my husband told me we are on a limited budget, ok this is normal 250.00 for 2 weeks I went to Weis, and bought mostly non perishables, bread, and a lot of what was on sale and used my 'club card', I saved the milk and eggs to buy from BJs wholesale club as they are far more cheaper, and I am not happy with the meat prices at Weis, so I will look at Walmart, BJs and other places for meat and vegetables, and of course I need cheese. But with the club card and coupons alone I saved over 22.00, that includes a 5.00 coupon from Weis in my 2008 Entertainment book for 50.00 of groceries. So now I only need to use 27.00 in coupons to get my money out of that book. Coupons in the Sunday paper are not always productive for us as they often entail buying multiple items to get the savings, or on name brand things, that you can usually buy cheaper by buying the store brand. Which I might add Store brands taste just as good as the name brand many times. I told my kids I bought a bunch of cereal, and when its gone its gone, I'm not buying more. Weis had a sale on General Mill Cereals, and buy one get one free, and DJ Liquidators had cereal, Dora Cinnamon cereal, and Golden Sparkle Fruit loops for one dollar a box, and we got some weight watcher's cereal for my husband for 1.00 a box (that I can't eat as it is made with soy)... But overall it was a productive shopping trip even though I have to finish tomorrow or later tonight... though I came home utterly exhausted..... | | | | | |

| | Yeah, I hate grocery shopping. I went to the store last week...it was $5 for a gallon of milk! Ridiculous! Dah...at least there are cupons, and my family normally buys things when they're on sale. | | | | | | |

| | I am one of those people who enjoy grocery shopping. I don't have any club cards to help me save, but I do use coupons. They can save you a decent amount of money. I usually go when my son is at school and it is just my 8 month old and me. She is very good at the grocery store. Good luck with the rest of your shopping. | | | | | | |

| | I save a walmart, I get good buys there.. the prices are good where I live. Have you got a Save-a-lot grocery store where you live? You can save up to 40% on groceries. It's all off brand stuff, but you can really save. I don't buy my meats there, I get them at walmart... but if I am low on money I will shop at save a lot. | | | | | | |

| | I cannot see myself ever starting a shopping service because I am FROOOOOOGAL. I won't say cheap because i will buy better quality store brands before the cheap stuff. But I am a good shopper and can stay close to a list when I shop. And I will buy the best store brand of the same thing before I will buy a brand name item. I know more about household stuff than most men can even dream of knowing. Any really rich women out there? I think my wife will let me be rented for a bit if the price is right... I can cook, shop, some cleaning (hey I'm strange but still a man) laundry and other household chores including windows. Do NOT ask me to garden. Or rake after mowing. If your yard feels too big, you better have a ride on mower and there better not be any flowers in the way... But I likely can be rented. Like I said, you best have big bucks and deep pockets because you are negotiating with my wife. I'll view it as being sent to the farm league team... 8D

| | 'Which I might add Store brands taste just as good as the name brand many times. " You are so right there! Sometimes they're even better. :) Our Albertsons had Life Cereal, Quaker Granola bars and Quaker Instant Oatmeal 10/$10 recently and I stocked up like no other! | | | | | | |

| | That's a great savings you made!!! I used to do the whole coupon clipping thing too, but when you compare prices, you can get the store brand cheaper than with a coupon. And yeah, they do all taste the same. I try to buy as much as I can at Sam's Club, espeically the meats. Last year I started buying a lot of my household products directly from the manufacturer, so much cheaper than Sam's even. Things have gotten so expensive any more that you gotta save any way you can! | | | | | | |

| | Hi mooch, Safeway has card for discounts, plus clipping coupons on certain items. Walmart has pretty good deals most of the time. I have a Grocery Outlet here that saves a lot on a lot of staples. This store has stuff from closing stores that they sell real cheap. After you make your sale, your receipt reflects your savings. I have saved as much as 200.00 in one trip. I usually get stuff like canned tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, cereals, crackers, baking mixes, bread mixes and rice there regularly. Once a month I make a trip to Costco and buy in bulk, or at least large sizes, and stock up on storage bags, soaps, shampoo, laundry soap, and meats. That trip is a good one. Happy posting.. | | | | | | |

| | I actually like to go grocery shopping. I cut coupons and like to see how much I can save. If something is on sale, I will stock up too. My husband hates to go, so I go myself and most of the time I have fun. | | | | | | |
