What is the significance of Christmas Tree?

You know, i'm not real sure what the signifigance is of the Christmas tree. For my family and i, it is a time for us to all come together and decorate it as a family. Where the kids aren't off playing and the daily chores are not being done. Just time to be together and do something as a family and it's really a lot of fun to see my kids get so excited about getting to help decorate.

It was the famous Christian reformer Martin Luther who started the modern Christmas tree tradition. The decorated evergreen has profound spiritual meaning. Generally, the use of Christmas
has been long a tradition.

When I think of christmas, several things come into my mind, like santa, cake, gifts from family and of course the christmas tree. I am really not sure of the significance of this tree but i know that it is time to decorate the tree together with family.I enjoy looking at its beauty once its finished and when xmas is over, we used to remove those good things on it and share with friends. I also think the tree when lit resembles the big star that lead the three wisemen to where Jesus was borne. I am surely not sure.

actually christmas tree is more of a tradition. it doens't really mean anything. it's just a way of remembering christmas. and people love this tradition and so until now we still practice it. people just put a star on the top of christmas tree to symbolize the star that the three kings had seen on the night they went looking for the king that was promised to them by God and which was proclaimed to them by an angel along the road while they were travelling along the road.

During middle ages, paradise tree was decorated with beautiful apples. It symbolizes feast for Adam and Eve. It was usually observed on 24th December. In the year 1531, Christmas trees were found in Alsace. People decorate their homes with beautiful undecorated Christmas trees.

First person who decorated indoor Christmas tree was Martin Luther. During Independence war, the Christmas tree tradition was introduced by Hessian troops in United States. Life is compared to a tree, the Tree of Life; Jesus said I am the Life. For me, the birth of Jesus is symbolized with that Christmas tree, however, the original celebration was that: the atmosphere has clean air, the environment was silent, nature (a star) gives out its light. But because of our present commercial life, we seemed to forget nature's requirements in celebrating the birth of Christ, rather, we have a noisy celebration, full of man-made lights (electric lights), throw out fire crackers, etc. to pollute the air, shouts and make noise using modern facilities, thus, our time forgot to give respect to this important day---the day for our salvation. How can man receive that day's blessing when we deviated to what is to be properly done?
