nickventere (1072) | 3 years ago | Now that u know what HTML stands for, Winkyb, are u going to learn it? HTML is one of the easiest programming languages, though usually simply referred to as mere coding. Quite nostalgic to the early 1990's when u could struggle in Notepad doing HTML for webpages, called homepages then. U rarely found pictures on sites until HTML was improved along the way. And then came the WYSIWYG applications for designing webpages! Oh, HTML...

callraheel (131) | 3 years ago | well i didnt know about the Hotmail story related with HTML, anyways as others said HTML is easy to learn language which provide you with a lot of simple, easy to learn texture and syntax is relatively easy to grasp...Good luck if you are planning or have planned to learn, its fun!

rohitssj4 (1305) | 3 years ago | A worldwide system of interconnected computer networks. The origins of the Internet can be traced to the creation of ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network) as a network of computers under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Defense in 1969. Today, the Internet connects millions of computers around the world in a nonhierarchical manner unprecedented in the history of communications. The Internet is a product of the convergence of media, computers, and telecommunications. It is not merely a technological development but the product of social and political processes, involving both the academic world and the government (the Department of Defense). From its origins in a nonindustrial, noncorporate environment and in a purely scientific culture, it has quickly diffused into the world of commerce.
The Internet is a combination of several media technologies and an electronic version of newspapers, magazines, books, catalogs, bulletin boards, and much more. This versatility gives the Internet its power. The Internet 'Ls technological success depends on its principal communication tools, the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and the Internet Protocol (IP). They are referred to frequently as TCP/IP. A protocol is an agreed-upon set of conventions that defines the rules of communication. TCP breaks down and reassembles packets, whereas IP is responsible for ensuring that the packets are sent to the right destination.
Data travels across the Internet through several levels of networks until it reaches its destination. E-mail messages arrive at the mail server (similar to the local post office) from a remote personal computer connected by a modem, or a node on a local-area network. From the server, the messages pass through a router, a special-purpose computer ensuring that each message is sent to its correct destination. A message may pass through several networks to reach its destination. Each network has its own router that determines how best to move the message closer to its destination, taking into account the traffic on the network. A message passes from one network to the next, until it arrives at the destination network, from where it can be sent to the recipient, who has a mailbox on that network. | skybitscom (58) | 3 years ago | Very good rohitssj4. You will go far and you are very mature for your age. Don't let anyone sway you from that maturity. People will challenge you, believe me. I've been around computers since the 80's and know everything you are talking about. It was a great career until a couple years ago. I'm in and out of it now trying to just make money. I'm more online now within my studies, than building them, or troubleshooting. Good luck to you rohitssj4. Oh and I never heard of the Hotmail story. That sounded rediculous at first, but it is right up there with how Billy boy thinks. He takes from something and molds it into a Microsoft thing. Active Directory is from X.500 protocol, just like Netware is too. They did not create the wheel from scratch. If anyone who reads this wants more information on learning HTML, XML, or other similar languages goto www.w3schools.com,, www.htmlref.com,, www.htmldog.com. . I have some video courses I got for free and would be glad to share if you like. They include RSS FEED, HTML, graphics, audio, and more.

stonehr (635) | 3 years ago | Yes, I agree. HTML stands for headaches to most languages, since it needs to be implement to get dynamic page in php, perl, or asp.Second question will be what is the difference using htm or html extension. for example You can have index.htm or index.html. Far as I know In early period of '90 htm is used, and in newer age html is used.
