does what you see on tv, commercials and in celebrities affect you personally, |
|
do they change your beliefs and personality and your choices and your lifestyle. does it change the way you dress, behave and even eat. well i just notice there are lot of anorexic people nowadays. pointing to the models that they see on tv as the cause of their disease. they just wan't to be thin for they fell ithey will be accepted only when are very thin. they think they will be loved if they starved themselves to death. i think 98% percent of anorexic are women while the remaining are men. so it's more rampant on women than men. what do you think. what are the effects of television on you. can you tell some of it.

2. stealthy (1306) | 11 months ago | I watch for entertainment, even some commercials. They have very little effect on me except occasionaly when I think a celebrity is using their celebrity in a not very appropriate way. Being a guy I'm not really affected by the thin, etc examples and I don't like the waif thin models either. I like for women to be healthy looking with perhaps an attractive athletic body.

3. Angelwriter (1060) | 11 months ago | What I see on tv doesn't affect me to any dangerous or deep extent. I haven't changed any deeply held or even moderately held beliefs because of tv. It has affected me in minor, silly ways. When I watched The X-Files, I went through a sunflower seed eating phase, because Mulder on the show ate them a lot. (And, sunflower seeds are actually very tasty and satisfy the salt cravings, so I have to thank the creators for making Mulder a sunflower seed eater, or I never would have tried them) I also started collecting scarves because the main character on Joan of Arcadia always wore one.

6. isaiah12 (393) | 11 months ago | I am 48 years old and don't let things on TV effect what I do or think. I am my own person and responsible for my own actions. In the end when I face God it will be me answering for my actions. Not the celebrities. Unfortunately young people look up to celebrities and try to copy their acts or looks. Which now adays is not the best thing. How many good role models is out there for the young kids?

7. taskata10 (260) | 11 months ago | Hi! Yes. I always change my mind when I learn a successful person. You know, if you want to be successful, the person is an example. You want to know how he become so famous and so successful. Maybe you will think that if it were you, would you succeed? Maybe the same thing will come to you. In a way, we can copy success. I believe that everyone likes to be successful in his life. What do you think about it?

8. archer1811 (878) | 11 months ago | Definitely no. I have my own opinion and beliefs and the way I take care myself is the way that I think what is right, not base on the commercial that I watched on tv. And beside I only watch tv when I have time. Am so busy during weekdays that's why i cant find enough time to watch tv. My extra time when I am at home is I reserve for taking care of my son and helping him study his lesson.

9. UNPINOY (131) | 11 months ago | hi. I NO LONGER WATCH TELEVISION. television today has become pure advertising. every move, every angle, everyone personality....all have some product to promote or endorse. Whatever happened to responsible programming. As to the effects of television, it is such a powerful tool that can transform anyone's mind into believing a lie as truth, a negative a positive, evil as good. That's how dangerous television can get. i hope adults would watch their children more. thanks, perry
