Another loved me too much it litterally smothered me. I have since found (married 10 years) that when you find that special someone, it is returned and cherished because you have the mutual bond between you.
Lifes funny and what we expect or anticipate from a partner can change as we grow older. I'm so glad I found my husband. He doesn't always understand me, but he loves and appreciates me all the same.

I do not ask for return but I get overwhelmed when someone loves me. May be, there are many who have used me but then there have been many who have given me more than I deserve. That balances it all, I guess.

There may be some where the love is not necessarily equal, meaning felt more strongly on my side or theirs, or felt but not in the same way (I'm not sure how to explain this), but I do not believe, at least with the loved ones I have in my life now, that any take advantage of me. I am very fortunate.:)
