It sprays water in a circular motion against the gum line to get out all the stuff that is left behind just by brushing. The toothbrush part of the system has a flossing head and also a brush head that does work similar to what a hygienist does in polishing your teeth after cleaning in addition to the regular brush. And there are other attachments, too, that make it well worth the extra money. If you don't already have a good quality dental irrigator, then the more expensive one is really the way to go. I am very frugal and would not spend more money than necessary on this sort of thing. When I bought mine, my husband threw away his Sonicare and got one for himself, too. He also likes the Braun much better.

| | 3. williamjisir (13172) | 3 years ago | There are also electric tooth brush on sale in the big supermakets in my area, but they are too expensive. I have not used them yet for this reason. I have been using manual tooth brush only. I am used to them already and I love to use them.
But what is the good of using an electric tooth brush? Has the doctor give any comments about that, please? I would be interested to know the information. Thank you in advance for your response.

When I was using the Sonicare, I always had to have scaling and polishing when I visited the dentist which wasn't the case when I used the standard toothbrush. Some people though, say they are great, but I would not buy another one.
