Tai Chi |

Does anyone out there practice Tai Chi or Chi Kung? If so how do you like it? I have been practicing for 9 years, and I think it's great.

1. laurika (2674) | 3 years ago | I don't but my fiancee used to practice Tai-chi for about 20 years. He don't anymore.I am supporting him to start again, but it seems like he don't have enough energy for doing it and he is probably lazy too.

bninform9 (206) | 3 years ago | Although Tai Chi is an martial art it is more like Kung Fu. (It also has a lot of animal actions within the forms,as Kung Fu does, i.e. Repulse the monkey, snake crawls down the mountain, etc.) To answer your question I don't think so.

| jetrodragon (16) | 1 year ago | Sorry but no, Tai chi is not the same as Karate. In my opinion Karate is hard and straight while Tai chi is different due to its soft style and round movements. Karate is pure for combat sports while it might be same as Tai chi but i don't see any competition for Tai chi as a combat sports except for sanshou, but it's a different style of kung fu. Tai chi is more for internal arts and for moving meditation. It has its applications for kung fu but its up to the teachers (sifu) who can teach the students or sometimes its the students itself can find out wha are the forms for. So in my opinion its really different .

There is also an instance that i forgot a simple set. Funny thing is that for more than 10 years we sometimes forget. Good thing theres my teacher that i always talk to when i need help. Oh my tai chi style is Wu.

bninform9 (206) | 1 year ago | Wu style Tai Chi is long and slow, and I really like it. I think Yang is easy, while Chen is fast and slow but harder to learn. I will always practice Tai Chi. Thanks.
