Sweetest Day  | |  There is a tradition that is celebrated in my part of the U.S. called Sweetest Day. It is to be observed this Saturday. I never knew of this holiday until I moved back to the midwest. We did not celebrate it in the south where I grew up. Do you celebrate Sweetest Day in your area? To me it is just like Valentine's Day where you gift your sweetheart with a card and flowers or candy. I have heard it said that this is just a holiday created by the greeting card industry. What do you think?

| | 3.  theprogamer (7518) | 3 years ago |  Well Worldwise it started out in Cleveland as chocolate donations to old folks, orphans and the poor. But yes you do have a point, it was made into a sort of hallmark holiday but it didn't spread.
I don't really recognize it as such, but a couple of exes tried pulling it on me (surprise surprise -_-). Anyways, the only thing I did for this year was just visit Grandma and spent some time with her.
