Did Dumbo the flying elephant deserve his name?  | |  Do you think Dumbo was a suitable name for him? Was Walt Disney being mean to call him Dumbo or was that a play on words for what Disney knew was going to be the outcome of the baby elephant's dilemma.

His name was Jumbo Jr.
But because of his big ears and such they gave him the nickname Dumbo.
So Disney wasn't being mean by naming him Dumbo, but he was making the characters who made fun of him mean by nicknaming him Dumbo.
