 Most of us are very touchy and meticulous about how our desktops look like. Why don't we start posting in a screen shot of our desktops here? Here is mine for the starters. It's my windows XP SP2 with a mac theme.

| suchand (86) | 3 years ago | The top bar is a free application called uptimer, which will show you the system status uptime and a lot more things, which can be added as modules. I can give you more details if you are interested. It's a windows only application;)

Years back I tried to make my windows system look like Mac but never was able to create the complete look, thats why I asked how you created the top bar. Thanks for the information. But now I was able to bring that look on Linux. Now my desktop looks more sexy. I will add my desktop (Linux) screenshot tomorrow. Thanks for pointing me to the photo uploading facility. Never tried it before, even though I have been a user at mylot for months:D | |

| suchand (86) | 3 years ago | Giving your windows a MAC look is pretty simple now a days as there are many theming engines available, like styleXP, windows blinds etc etc.
The easiest and completely free way is to use third party ready made themes like flyakite.

| swaroop_sv2003 (398) | 3 years ago | I have tried the first two softwares but was not much impressed with it.haven't tried the third one. Will try that soon. Anyway check out my screenshot . It is not to make it look like MAC even though it do have some features like MAC. It is a KDE desktop on opensuse 10.3. I think it looks cool.I will transform it completely to have a MAC look and will post the screenshot here. Do provide your feedbacks:)

I have a few themes along with the mac one, but I generally use this one as its very pleasant and neat. There are a variety of themes available on the net. With uxtheme patch you can apply a lot of themes to your windows XP. Or else you should get some theming engines, like style XP/ window blinds etc.

The terminal transparency anyway do not need compiz or beryl. You can set that in any normal gnome terminal.
