San Diego is not only on fire, but being looted!

Sigh...
I thought something like this would happen. Heck, they've got people stealing rations meant for the wildfire evacuees. I'm not surprised people are looting the abandoned homes.

Don't know what I could do or would do. I'd at least have sensitive and very important stuff in a large safe or hidden safe. Other than that what else is there? Alarms are useless since the town is on high alert due to the obvious problem. Could have a small camera on the front door but of course if my house burned down after it got looted then I'd be in a jovial situation with that plan -_-

Human nature never ceases to amaze me! It doesn't matter what the circumstances or what pain, hardship or suffering a situation causes; there always seems to be a lowest common denominator of a human being that seeks personal gain from it. It is also amazing that a person could completely ignore the carnage around them and see the opportunity for gain and not the plight of others. It is really, really sad.:(

Well if I was at home I would be really quite untill they left then I would call 911. I would try to hide so they couldn't hurt or kill me. zthere is no telling how theives would act if they knew I was at home. Same if I wasn;t at home call 911. I had a cousin awhile back that got robbed in the middle of the day while she went shopping. They took her coumpter and her son's playsation. I felt so bad because it happened right around Christmas.

Hi favorgrays! That is so sad. I have some relatives being living in San Diego and they are really affected with the wild fire. If I am in that kind of situation, I will be devastated because people should be helping people in times like this and not being taken advantage of. I guess, I can not do anything about it when all I am thinking of is save my family and not the material possessions I have accumulated. But it will be very frustrating to come home and find out that your house was looted. I just sure hope these thieves will be caught. Take care and have a nice day.

it happens in my country as well in 1998... i think they are really heartless especially to do that to the persons that are experiencing tragedy... i hope they will get caught and get the proper punishment that they deserve...

Its really sad, bad people are every where, it might be in their blood/nature that as soon as they have such chance and police is busy in evacuting people from fire and they start looting home, sad

the same happen in Pakistan, in last Oct, when Earthquake take toll of thousands and destroyed 3 major cities and numerous villages at hills, there were LOT of people all over the world went their to help them to provide aid, to help injured to bury death but at the same times their were people who were looting jewlery and precious belonging from destroyed house, even some were reported snatching jewlery from dead bodies of women. What would you say here. The people of same country doing good deeds while few doing bad deeds. So its not whole country but few bad people exploiting all situation

I am really sorry as whats happening in San Diego, and hope there would be less live loss as well as financial loss. Soon Authorties overcome on this deadly fire and people get back to their SWEET HOMES

Don't these 'idiots' know this could be happening to them or their loved ones? Obviously NOT, or they wouldn't do it. Unfortanetly we live in the times where people really don't care [for the most part] about what they do or how they go about getting things. Very sad indeed!...Lori

It is hard to believe that people can stoop so low. But there are some really evil people in this world who don't care about anyone but themselves. It is a really sad thing to hear of.

It must be a horrible situation there.
I'll be some people are really glad they still have the right to bear arms.

I think it's so pathetic and sorrowful that two awful incidents are happening to you at the sametime. for one, you know it'll be by grace and GOD'S intervention that one's house is safe. it's really horrible that both the looters and the fire are of equal disasters. how are they able to escape the fire to safety with the assets of people moaning over their assete devoured by both fire and thieves?
may they be burnt by the fire.
