China blocks a lot of blogging sites!  | |  I was about to post a new entry yesterday in my wordpress blog but my browser was not able to load www.wordpress.com after several times of refreshing. I also cannot read wordpress blogs without using a free anonymous proxy site. It sucks! THis country blocked my first blogging site so i transfered to Wordpress and for sure my young wordpress blog will eventually lose it's few audience because I can't update it. I am itching to post but I can't. Is there any internet savy person out there who can tell me how to update my wordpress blog without going to the wordpress site? Or should i just stop trying and create a new account in another blogging which is not blocked here?
I hope they won't block MyLot... it would be horrible if it happens.

| | 5.  Inazumi (504) | 3 years ago | That's really too bad. I knew that China blocked a lot of Internet sites, but I didn't realize they had blocked WordPress, too. Would you be able to register a domain name with a hosting service like Yahoo? I have a small business account with Yahoo, and I was able to set up a blog powered by WordPress directly through my hosting.
If you can't do that, WordPress also has an option to manually install everything you need to have a WordPress blog on your own hosting. I think you need to be able to access the main site, though, or else have some way to get the files you need to upload to your host.
Another thing you might be able to do is find someone who can update your blog for you from another country. Maybe you could email your updates to that person, who would then post them to your blog for you.
