What's with men and black or white socks?

You are absolutely right about white cotton socks. They are the absolute best for keeping one's feet the most comfortable in the worst conditions. Black are the worst but look better with a suit and loafers.

I am glad you said that because I only have white socks (hanes,short ones) and I get kinda self consious about it. Especially since I wear shorts all the time. I could not bring myself to wear red socks though. I do have a few pairs of different colored dress socks but I only wear them with long pants.

How do I pick which subjects to respond to??

Bay - Could I wear red ones with my summer sandles and shorts? Or would women and small children run screaming into the streets? On second thought, your husband has the right idea and tomorrow I expand my wardrobe to grey socks! What fun.

Well you see - that's the problem. It wasn't my wish. It just seemed to happen and now I'm afraid of colour - although BayleighGrey has me buying grey socks now, so I may just be getting over my fear of colour. I rather like her like her idea of looking like a firehydrant too. Think of the doggie friends I'll make! lol

I say all men should be able to wear any colour they please, with pride and defiance and who cares what anyone else thinks!!! I'm starting with grey. Are you with me 'gamer? Then maybe red (I love dogs and if Bay thinks I'll look like a firehydrant, then so be it), then neon yellow, pink, lime green .... heck let's just take over the world .... afterall we're real men aren't we? lol

LOL Your so funny! I guess I didnt think about those dark colors. I myself have all kinds of colored socks, but I too only have mostly white ones.

I think if they are worn with dress slacks and a nice shirt with the same colors in the shirt as the socks then it would look nice. Being my hubby is a horseman, slacks and dress shirts are NOT part of his attire. lol I can see you wearing this though, and looking rather spiffy if I may say so!:D
