Balding  | |  This is a discussion my daughter and I started last night. Her friends little brother has very soft hair, but they were saying that he would probably be bald because his Dad and his Grandfather are balding.
This may be a myth, but I think I heard that baldness comes from the mothers side of the family. For example, my sisters son who is in his 30's has no sign of losing his hair and my dad also didn't have thinning hair either. My husband does have thinning hair, but his Mom was adopted, so we don't know, but his Dad doesn't have thinning hair.
So, by looking at the men in my family, I can say that the probability of men losing hair is from the mothers side of the family.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Is there research that now no longer suggest that? (I am talking about the normal lose of hair, not sickness or medications
that may cause this)
