How do you decide where to put your Christmas tree in your house or apt? |
|
I have a very small apartment and I've been here 4 years and have never put up a Christmas tree! I'm planning on doing it this year if only for my granddaughter to enjoy when she is here with me which is very often lately. I like to have my tree in front of windows and if it wasn't for my desk and pc stuff that area would be a perfect place for it. It would be between two windows facing the main street. It's going to be a job but I'm thinking of moving everything to the right as far as I can and fitting a tree to the left of my computer. I hate it when there isn't space for what I want to do but I'm usually good at figuring these things out.
Do you have a specific place where you put your Christmas tree? If not how do you decide where to put it? Do you have to move things around like I do?

1. zukepr (11799) | 3 years ago | Oh man I so need to start thinking about the Christmas tree! Its been so crazy lately that it totally escaped me that Thanksgiving is almost upon us We always have to rearrange furniture to put the tree up We always put it in the same place In the front room, opposite the double windows We find it personally appealing to be able to drive by a house (any house) and catch a glimpse of the Christmas spirit in the form of a lit Christmas tree so we put ours in view so that it can been seen by others (in case we arent weird and other people like to see the same view LOL)

ctrymuziklvr (4677) | 3 years ago | There are areas near where I live that are actually so decorated on the outside that police have to be there to keep the traffic moving. I love seeing other people's trees through the windows too.

3. maddysmommy (10990) | 3 years ago | We had tiny one that sat on a corner table in the lounge. Now that we have settled into our apartment, we will be buying a new christmas tree and it will most likely sit in a corner by the window, which in our case I have to move one of our lounge seats just to place it there.

6. OreoCookie3 (18601) | 3 years ago | We don't really have any choice in the matter of where to put a tree. Our house is so small. It wouldn't be quite so small but one room is nothing but junk mostly from the aunt that owns the place. She is in a nursing home and a lot of her stuff is just packed in that room and we use the rest of the house. It makes for a very small space for us.. and we end up putting the tree in the foyer.. now with a Chihuahua this Christmas.. makes me wonder how he will behave with a tree.

ctrymuziklvr (4677) | 3 years ago | lol...it's always fun having a Christmas tree when there's a dog or cat in the family! I remember the problems I had years ago when I had two cats. I was putting that tree back together every day! They were always trying to climb up the pole.

8. devilsangel (979) | 3 years ago | Last year we didn't put up a tree because we weren't in town for Christmas so it seemed kinda pointless to put a tree up. This year I don't really have a particular spot to put it, I figure I'll put it where its least likely to catch fire or get triped over by some random drunk relitive.

ctrymuziklvr (4677) | 3 years ago | It is pointless to put up a tree when you're not going to be home for Christmas yet I know people who do it. I guess they just need help getting into the spirit of the holiday. Yes, watch those drunk relatives they can knock over a tree in the blink of an eye can't they?

9. Sacrificialclam (4467) | 3 years ago | I do. MIne goes in front of my double windows in my living room.
This year, I doubt if I'll put one up. I have kittens and I don't have the time off to watch them 24/7 to keep them out of it.

ctrymuziklvr (4677) | 3 years ago | Oh yes, I remember the days when I had cats and a Christmas tree. I had to put the tree up because my kids were small but it was such a hassle keeping them away from the tree and from trying to climb up the pole of the artificial tree. True story: had a sister in law who would buy very expensive party dresses and return them after wearing them. She had two cats. After a christmas party she stupidly put the very expensive designer dress under the Christmas tree and guess what? One of the cats peed on it! My brother in law was livid!!!

ctrymuziklvr (4677) | 3 years ago | You are right but I think most of us celebrate Christmas for other reasons whether it's right or not. I do it primarily for my kids and grandkids. Not to mention it's a holiday that my family has always celebrated and has become tradition. I think tradition is the key word here.
