I can't help you with a PS2 emulator because honestly I don't think there is a good working one yet. You can play all the older ones on emulators though except for 3 which as far as I know didn't have an english release until lately on the Nintendo DS. I thouroghly enjoyed the older titles, especially FFV.

try to search on emulatorworld.com or search in yahoo about ps2 emulator. but i dont think you can download the game rom itself coz it is to much heavy to download some game rom are about the size of a cd some dvd. so better have a faster connection in order to download game rom. even the psp roms are to big for downloading the smallest one is about 200+mb but it is a couple of hours to complete the download. but the emulator itself is about 20 to 30mb so you can download it anytime.
