1. lilaclady (15014) | 10 months ago | I have only known 2 people who installed vista to their computers and both of them went back to XP, reasons being it just would not take any of the programs they already had and just was not compatible with anything they had already paid a lot of money for...

2. diillu (3583) | 10 months ago | I have installed vista in my computer. I must say that it does look attractive but it so uncompatiable with many of the programmes that I had earlier in my computer. Apart from that it also made my comuter alot slower. I has to wait ages for one programme to start. Soon after 1 month or so I just got so fed uff that I had to roll back to windows XP.

| 3. cardlover (16) | 10 months ago | I have Windows Vista, and I love it more than XP! About the complaints above, they should have at least 512 MB of Ram, or it will be so slow, and a lot of features are turned off because of this. Vista is more attractive, and I use Home Basic, and if you want the cool features that you see, like 3D and stuff, get Premium! Or have A LOT OF FEATURES, get ultimate. So, now, Window Vista Home Basic is recommended, or Premium.

5. nempel (136) | 10 months ago | have you tried linux? I think linux great also, besides its free (some of its still must pay .. like redhat), also it's more safer than windows I think, since linux user is still a little compare to windows. Virus threaten also smaller than windows, since there a little virus that works on linux. but if you want to use windows, I think right now xp still best, but arround half year again, vista eventually best, just IMO.

I remember when 'Windows Vista, came out, alot of people had problems with compatability of existing software (e.g. games etc). It turned out not very good value for money as most of your existing software can not be used. Both my desktop computer and laptop have 'Windows XP Media Edition', which I think is the best and more atractive to the eye. With 'Windows Vista' I can't get used to the new layout and find that it is not as easy to use.

| 7. arunjoseph123 (10) | 10 months ago | Actually windows vista have superb look and feel. With respect to speed it is slow because of lot of memory used for this appearance. but what is the solution is we could able to fix more RAM memory and good processors.

I work in IT company so i give support for all operating systems. If you try to use remote connections to the other computers, you can have great problems trying to make it work. There is not enough support for many types of software, but i find it a normal thing. They will have to release few service packs, and everything should be ok then. Just rememberthe time when winxp was released. Win98 was way better os for at least 1-2 years. Now it is out of question. Windows vista uses much more resources than windows xp, so xp takes the win at speed of processing. And you asked which one is more attractive... hmmm... that is one of the main reasons why Vista was made. To look good:) You asked some subquestions and my answer is - linux is the most secure os, fastest in doing any operations, i prefer linux rather than xp or vista, but if you just want your operating system to look nice, Vista is a good choice.
