I am totally disgusted helping my sister in law pack and move  

My sister in law is in the process of moving to the duplex across the street. I have no problem helping someone. I have off and on all week. But there are some things that bothered me. The first day I went over to help the house smelled really bad. There was food left in open cans, food dumped in the sink and dirty dishes galore through out the kitchen. Plus the dinning room floor was covered in dirt clothes. Needless to say I refuse to touch the kitchen. As I felt it was to nasty and unsanitary. I started in the children's bedroom instead. My sister in law started in the kitchen. The food she was putting in a trashcan with no trash liner. Before we left I made her take the trashcans out. I told her if she didn't the house would smell really bad. Plus she would have all kinds of bugs crawling in her house when she got back. With this heat in Florida....of my! Can you image what it would smell like? I also made her run a load of dishes in the dishwasher. I asked her she would rather take dirty dishes to a clean house. Or take clean dishes to a clean house? She said she would rather take clean dishes but she didn't have time to do them. I asked her if the dishes in the dishwasher were clean or dirty. She said clean. So I told her to start packing them. Because we weren't leaving to she ran a load of dishes through the dishwasher. I did help pack the clean dishes away that was in the dishwasher. I don't know maybe I was being mean to make her do those things. But I was down right disgusted with what I saw. I was not raised like that at all. My house may not be the cleaniest. But it sure doesn't have any food lying around. Another time I was helping her move. I was packing things up in the bedroom. I kept telling her I needed a trashcan. She told me to just throw the trash on the floor that we would clean it up later. I was thinking....in the mean time how in th eworld would I be able to get out of the bedroom with crap on the floor with my bad leg. So I holler out to my sister in laws 18 yr old daughter to bring me a trashcan. She did. So, I picked up all the trash off the floor. So I could at least move around. Than filled it up throwing crap away. I am sorry but if I am going to help someone. I am not going to make extra work by throwing trash on the floor to clean up later. That should be thrown away the first time around. Needless to say I used the excuse I have things that need done in my house. So, I didn't go along to help her pack again. I am totally disgusted helping my sister in law pack and move.





Do you have relatives or knows someone who lives like this? Would you have helped pack and move someone who lives like this? Do you think it was wrong to make her to do some of those things before leaving? How much would of you helped?
