Did you know there is a new Shrek 4 in pre production for 2010?

I think this is starting to get a bit silly. Are they really able to come up with new material or are the just not done milking a cash cow?

With the current price of a movie ticket, I can't blame you there. Plus where I am the drive to the theatre with gas prices, jeez.

Yeah I know, I still haven't even seen the third one yet. So i'll probably just wait here patiently.

I didn't know that, I agree it's getting silly, what about some new ideas, I'm sure there are plenty, 4 movies about that green monster is way way 2 much. But on the other hand they can't do this forever.

They certainly can try. In another vein how many Friday the 13th movies, Freddy Krueger, or Halloween sequels? Idmb is where I found the article, while trying to find the title of another movie

No I didnt know that. I liked the first one and was ok with the second one. But the third one sucked! I think anyway. We took my 3 and 5 year old to see it and they kept asking to go home!! And my husband fell asleep! Really wasnt worth the time or money. I dont know what they plan to do in the 4th one but Im not going to be seeing it.

Well I agree with you. But I may see it. However, not at a theatre. Will wait for the dvd, and probably for a review from friends and fsmily. It's in pre-production now, with the writers strike maybe they will scrap whole project. lol

I didn't know that... Those Americans, really. Can somebody tell me the reason ehy can't they just leave their good products alone with their glory? I know that Shrek 4 won't be as funny as the first part and I don't like when people don't know where to stop.

There has always been money made with sequels, I am sure that's a big part of it.

The sequels to movies are never as compelling as the original to me. The Shrek franchise seems to have lost a little something since the original. However, there is a special sort of financial physics at work. Movies will continue to be made in a franchise so long as it seems they will continue to make a profit. And why not? As you have watched a movie in the past, you enter the next movie with some background already in your head. You understand some things about the setting or the stile so that less needs to be explicitly explained to you by the dialog.
