What do you like with your peanut butter sandwich? Are you a jelly person? If so, what flavor? Or, maybe you prefer honey?
For the last few months I have been putting marshmellow fluff on my pb sandwiches. Don't ask me why. I just tried it once and and fell in love. I used to love peanut butter and honey with bananas. I still do, but I haven't had it like that in ages.

1. Transdisc (18489) | 3 years ago | I am a simple bear. I just like grape jelly or grape jam. I actually prefer grape jam because it's easier to spread. I also do like a bit of honey in my peanut butter.
I tend to mix my peanut butter and jelly in separate container until I reach the perfect spreading consistency, then I spread this concoction on both slices of bread.

dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | Have you heard of this stuff they make now that mixes it all together for you? It's called Goober. Silly name, I know, but it might be just what you're looking for. They make it in grape and strawberry. This would save you many hours of bear slave labor in mixing it all together.
| |
Transdisc (18489) | 3 years ago | Yes, I'm familiar with Goober grape. I eat a jar of it every few weeks. The whole jar. Never makes it to the bread. It has its own unique taste that I just can't resist.
| |
dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | Ah, good! I'm glad you have discovered this winning combination of peanut butter and jelly. I should have assumed you would have.;)
I like more peanut butter than jelly and Goober tends to go heavy on the jelly, but sometimes I'll eat it if I'm lazy or trying to eat less calories.

| |
dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | I like it plain too sometimes, Goodie, but sometimes it's just too sticky alone. And, yes, try that marshmellow fluff. It's to die for!:)
| |
Goodie123 (7548) | 3 years ago | Hi D
I dont think we can buy Marshmallow fluff here. I will just have to dream about it. It sure does sound delicious though. Is it time for you to get out of bed already. It is 9.53 pm here.

dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | Yes, it's 7:06 AM. I have about 7 minutes before I have to get moving LOL.

Goodie123 (7548) | 3 years ago | Ow thank you D I think it should probably go nice with the rice also.
| |
dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | Hmmmm.... Marshmellow fluff and rice. Are these odd cravings from anything specific, Goodie??;)

3. kiobug (598) | 3 years ago | My boyfriend resorted to honey recently because we ran out of jam. I prefer jam. Oreos and peanut butter are really good too.

chargoans (741) | 3 years ago | I have only eaten peanut butter honey candy. Never tried it as a sandwich but i believe I will! How much honey should I add to my pb?
| |
dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | Anything and peanut butter is good!!
I think the honey would be to your taste. I don't like a ton of it because it's so sweet, but some people like to pour the stuff on.

4. Calais (7038) | 3 years ago | I love peanut butter sandwiches, but it has to be on fresh bread and spread real thickly...
| |
| |
Transdisc (18489) | 3 years ago | Oh yes, excellent point -- the bread HAS to be fresh.
| |
Calais (7038) | 3 years ago | of course, i dont want crusty, stale stuff...

5. chargoans (741) | 3 years ago | I hope I don't gross anyone out, but I absolutely love peanut butter and banana with mayo sandwiches. Not any mayo works for this concoction, as you may argue if you want, but Duke's mayo is the best with this pairing. Miracle Whip alters the sweetness of the banana terribly

6. ElicBxn (15227) | 3 years ago | Chocolate. I like chocolate on my peanut butter. About the ONLY thing that can get me to eat the stuff
| |
| |
dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | I take it peanut butter is not your favorite food??? LOL
| |
ElicBxn (15227) | 3 years ago | I quit eating peanuts after spending several afternoons burping after eating the nuts. I kind of quit eating peanut butter years before because, well, I don't remember - probably because I liked other things better.
But I started eating it again when I needed to eat SOMETHING after my lunchtime nap while I was still working after we discovered my blood sugar was at 66 after a car wreck. Discovered if I put chocolate I could stand the stuff.

7. breezie (991) | 3 years ago | I don't eat too much penut butter, as I'm not a big fan. If I am going to eat it I am very particular about my sandwich. It has to be made on whole wheat bread with smooth peanut butter and raspberry jam. The only other time I eat peanut butter (besides in baked stuff ) is on toast if it is melted. Even when I was a kid I wasn't too big on peanut butter.
| |
| |
foxyfire33 (5796) | 3 years ago | That's the only way my dad eats peanutbutter...melted on toast!
| |
dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | I have to say that is one of the few ways I don't like it....melted. I used to when I was a kid, but not anymore for some reason.

8. raychill (3493) | 3 years ago | Peanut Butter and Fluff isn't weird, considering it's a well named sandwich, the Fluffernutter!
Weirdly, I like the SAME things as you OMG! ha ha.
I love PB & Honey. PB & Banana's. PB & Fluff. PB & Bananas & Honey. Sometimes I'll do PB & Strawberry Jelly. Other times I've done PB & Fluff & Strawberry Jelly. Sometimes I'll just do PB!
I also love PB on toast...because then it's all melty and yummy!
| |
| |
dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | And, even weirder, "I" usually only like strawberry jelly if I'm eating jelly. Once in a while one of the other berries, but definitely not grape. I don't like grape jelly at all!:-P
| |
raychill (3493) | 3 years ago | Ha ha NICE! Same here, I totally avoid grape jelly at all costs! I also pretty much stick to my strawberry jelly. and I dont' like jam or preserves.
| |
dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | You know, I don't honestly know if I know the difference between jam and jelly. What is the difference?
| |
raychill (3493) | 3 years ago | ahhh I will teach you something new RIGHT NoW!
Jelly is made from fruit juice. Jam is made from fruit bits!
So Jelly just ...jelled fruit. Think, jello. Where as Jam is like Jello with fruit chunks in it.
| |
dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | Duh...I am such a dork, aren't I??? I swear I knew that now that you say it. LOL!!! Thank you!

9. CurlyRed (3474) | 3 years ago | Mmmm! PB and nanners! Usually i take the bananas and mash them together with the peanut butter. Then I spread it on bread. Any leftovers are eaten with a spoon. I also like pb and honey, and pb and jelly.
Whats funny is the Peanut butter MUST go on the bread first. I also refuse to eat it with butter, lol.
| |
| |
dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | I have been known to sit with a jar and a spoon and go at it; no bread, no spread, just me and my peanut butter.
Mashing it with the bananas sounds good, actually. Maybe I'll have that for dinner tonight. LOL.
I have never heard of eating peanut butter with butter. Is this common??

10. vicki2876 (3252) | 3 years ago | I like it with jam but mostly I just eat it with a bit of butter and a nice tall glass of milk. I have never tried it with marshmallow fluff though. I knew someone that put cheese in their peanut butter sandwiches. I thought it was a bit weird.
| |
| |
dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | Okay, explain the butter thing to me. LOL. A few people have said they eat peanut butter with butter. I have never heard of this. Is it a regional thing? I think I've lived in just about every region in the US and still have not heard of it LOL.
| |
vicki2876 (3252) | 3 years ago | I live in Canada and I know lots of people that do it. I think it is because when it is just peanut butter it gets stuck on the roof of your mouth but if you add a bit of butter it is smoother to get down.
