What's the best e-mail software email this discussion to a friend?

janytt (86)4 years ago

Personally I think Mozilla's Thunderbird (free) is the best I've tried. After you receive a couple of spam e-mail it really does handle and filter the trash.

Mozilla's Thunderbird is free and available from: http://www.mozilla.com/en... e-mail client do you use and what do you think about it?

I think you will like Thunderbird, I guess they picked this name for a reason. It's like crusing with a Pontiac Thunderbird;-)

Let me know what you think after you have tested it!

I normally use Microsoft Outlook, which I find extremely useful. I also use the calendar in Outlook to store information etcetera. The main reason for my love of Outlook is possibly that this is the email client that I have been using for years.
I do have Thunderbird on my laptop because I have installed SUSE 10 on it, and I find myself quite happy with the program. However, to be fair I do not use it sufficiently to compare the two.

Yes, I agree, it's a long step to change from what you have been using, to something that might be better. Of course if you are happy with what you have, you need good reasons to change it for something new.

I have been using Microsoft Outlook, I believe, since the first version was released.

Lately I have been a little frustrated with it. It slows my computer down a lot and there are some bugs causing Outlook to hang when I want to close it. It disappears, but it's still there in the processes. I think it's a common problem when you have a lot of e-mails stored.

I couldn't agree more. I like its Imap capabilities better than Outlook which I use to access my webmail. Like firefox I also love the plug-ins that you can customize it with along with it uses Mbox format for mail storage.
