Are You A Part Of Black Friday? What Time Did You Go? |
|
Black Friday shopping began at 4:00 AM for us. Starbucks even opened their doors at 3:00 AM. I thought of actually joining in the fun but my bed wouldn't let me go. People were camping out in front of department stores. What's up with that? So how did your Friday go. Were you there?

1. lilybug (15310) | 3 years ago | I have never been and never plan on going shopping on Black Friday. At 4 am I was in bed sound asleep. I would rather pay full price for something than go to any store on Black Friday and get a discount. To me the crowds are not worth it.

gtargirl (1254) | 3 years ago | You and me both, Lilybug. I had a hard time sleeping anyhow and didn't get to sleep until 3:00 AM. So I really didn't want to get up an hour later. The crowds would have given me a panic attack anyhow.

2. princessmom1011 (326) | 3 years ago | well normally im part of the Super early crowd but this year i had all my shopping done so i had no need to hit the stores at 5 am however at noon i did head out to "check " things out and almost all the stores run a fri/sat sale so i was able to get some extra last minute gifts mainly dvds and video games at a good price but even at noon there was no parking, the lines were super duper long and the aisles were beyond crowded

gtargirl (1254) | 3 years ago | Crowds make me nervous. Glad I stayed in bed. Hopefully I'll still find some good deals for Christmas later. Have a wonderful Friday evening, my friend.

3. SomethingGood332 (1344) | 3 years ago | Unless it is a life threatening emergency or some other drastic reason (my great-grandmother died on Thanksgiving one year, so we had to make arrangements on Black Friday), I don't even go into town! Traffic is horrible and people completely forget about holiday spirit and all of the. No deal is worth getting trampled or run over, which is actually quite likely around here.

|
|
gtargirl (1254) | 3 years ago | So true--no deal is worth the hassle of a million shoppers grabbing for the one item and so on. I'm sorry to hear that your great-grandma died on that one Thanksgiving day. Hope the holidays bring much happiness this year, my friend. Many blessings and have a great weekend.

gtargirl (1254) | 3 years ago | Black Friday is the busiest shopping day of the year for us here in the US. It's the day right after Thanksgiving. Stores will open as early as four in the morning. I've never gone that early and I don't think I'll ever make it either. Hope you get all your Christmas shopping done. Have a wonderful weekend.

5. Transdisc (18489) | 3 years ago | Hello gtargirl
I went to Lowe's this morning and bought 50 recesses lights. I guess that made me a part of Black Friday. It went okay.

Transdisc (18489) | 3 years ago | "recessed" lights.

gtargirl (1254) | 3 years ago | Ah yes, an early shopping spree at Lowe's. That place literally makes me sneeze and cry. Hope you had fun, Trans.

6. oneandonemakesix (24038) | 3 years ago | lots of places here opened at 4am also, nope didn't go, even though I was up until close to 3am, by the time it all started I was sound asleep.
I think its better to wait for the sales, which start before Christmas, just before, or to do my shopping online.
Stores are often understocked and don't offer rain checkss
I will be buying fewer more expensive gifts for my kids this year...
PS2 games, and gadgets, cameras stuff like that.

7. cripfemme (5643) | 3 years ago | I was supposed to go, but I was really was too tired and also my paycheck didn't arrive, so I would have had nothing to shop with anyway. I'm just lucky my grandma sent me $10 for Thanksgiving, so I could do some laundry and buy detergent, so as to address my evergrowing laundry pile.

8. highflyingxangel (8964) | 3 years ago | Shopping for us didn't start until 5AM. We left the house about 4AM and got there 20 minutes early, so I staked out a spot as close to the ropes as I could. They actually let us start shopping about 5 minutes before 5, which isn't bad. We were out of the store by a little after 6 and home by 7:30 because we stopped at Mcdonalds and got some breakfast. Walmart actually lets everyone in the store before the sale starts, they just rope sections off, so no camping out for us.

9. lecanis (7212) | 3 years ago | All I did today is work. I sometimes think about going shopping on Black Friday for the deals, but my social phobia just couldn't handle it. I've done it once in my life I think.
We weren't sure whether it would be very busy or very slow at the bank where I work, but it turned out to be very slow. So we mostly did decorating and stuff.:P

gtargirl (1254) | 3 years ago | It seems we all would rather stay at home and shop at our own convenience. Sometimes I am curious though of how crazy it really gets. If I had gone this morning I think I would have gone home after a few minutes with nothing in hand.

|
Lakota12 (16982) | 3 years ago | If I went and stood in line I would have came back with something fo rmy time. I just go to Black Fridays really never have the money at that time either lol
