Christmas tree...just for Christmas?

I only use mine for Christmas. I've heard of people keeping them up all year. I guess they decorate it according to the season. I don't think I could bring myself to keep mine out all year though.

I know this isn't what you have in mind, but what the hey, it gives me something to add to the discussion.

We typically use our Christmas tree in one of three ways afer its use as a Christmas Tree.

We have had some live trees that can be planted afterward. We have done so.

Secondly, we dump them into the pond to provide places of cover for the fish.

Third. I have been known to use a dry Christmas Tree as kindling for the fireplace. These suckers really burn.

I only use mine for Christmas and have never heard of a mardis gras tree. When I had real trees for Christmas I would often take them outside for a few days decorated with bread and popcorn for the birds. When all of my kids grew up and moved away then it was more realistic for me to buy an artificial tree.

I have a lot of trees I put up at Christmas. However, I have a couple I keep up all year. They arent huge...around anyway. The one is 6 ft. I love americana decorations and so I have it like that all through thr year.

I have never seen a Christmas tree used for anything else. But one year at my sisters house, we put the tree in the back yard and it stayed there to the following Christmas. That thing was real gross by the time we finally got rid of it. It was a ugly beige color.

I kind of like that idea - leave the tree up, leave the lights on, just change the decorations. Of course, I don't really care for having to store decorations for multiple holidays.

The thought had never occured to me. Our tree is always artificial & we put it away after Christmas. Mind you, it can take some time to get around to taking all the decorations off & packing it up.

What is a MardiGras tree?

My Pop once buried the bottom of the tree trunk in his garden after the needles had fallen off. Then in the spring, he planted green bean seeds at the bottom. The vines covered the tree for the summer, making it look 'alive', and the beans were easy to pick!

In India my neighbour who is christian says that they plant the trees in a pot and then keep it all through as its considered auspicious and brings goodluck. You are not supposed to gift it or throw it. They tale care of it all throught the year.

Chrismas tree is for small children they get fun they are finding gifts from chrismas tree and they thought chrisbuddha will from tree and will give tree.We are making chrismas tree from craft paper so it will not keep far away from so many day.
